I have been on 6 Royal Caribbean cruises, 3 Princess, 1 Celebrity and a 7 Norwegian cruises and I prefer RC to the others.

At one time I liked the Norwegian cruises the best. But after they started the "freestyle" cruising I do not like them as much because I prefer the traditional style dinner seating where I get to know one waiter and his assistant during the cruise, rather than having a different table and waiter each night. I like Norwegians ships but do not think they are as nice as the Royal Caribbean ships I have been on. I think the RC cabins are more tastefully decorated and more comfortable.

The one Celebrity ship we were on, the Constellation, was as nice as any ship we have sailed on. I would rate them about equal with RC.

Princess has, in my opinion, some of the nicest ships around. What I did not like about Princess was the older crowd of people and I don't care for their "personal choice" dinner seating either. Again, I prefer the traditional dinner seatings.

I have been very satisfied with the RC ships we have sailed on and my favorite ships are their Radiance class of ships which includes the Jewel of the Seas, Radiance of the Seas, and Brilliance of the Seas.

A new era in cruising began Monday at Port Canaveral. Royal Caribbean International's 155,000-ton Freedom of the Seas arrived at the Brevard County seaport this morning to begin seven-night Caribbean sailings. Royal Caribbean says Freedom, which debuted in June 2006 and can carry more than 4,300 passengers, is the largest cruise ship at sea. Its features include: more than 10 restaurants; 16 bars and lounges; a surf simulator; a water park; and an ice-staking rink. The ship departed Monday afternoon on its first cruise. It is the first of four new ultrasized cruise ships scheduled to arrive at Port Canaveral in the coming months.

Well I have been on over 30 cruises, 15 of them on Royal Carribean...I think that it is not very expensive for the service that you get..what i mean by that is: princess cruises are very overpriced, and arent as much fun, where as rccl you have so much to do and it is so much fun, and doesnt cost nearly as much...What rccl has that others dont is excitement for every age...whether its 1 or 100, rccl is incredible...there are rock walls, ice skating rinks, in line skating, and amazing food and service...what i find remarkable about rccl is that their ships hold much more people than basically every other cruise line...and when you are onboard the ship, not at all does it feel crowded...there are so many places to go on the ship, than you feel like there isn't 3000 people onboard with you...Here are some links that should help you:

I have been on a royal caribbean and a disney cruise. I loved the Disney cruise. And I'm not a kid. My husband and I went, and we are both over 40. They have amazing service, bigger staterooms than other cruise lines, and better activities. We are now hooked on disney cruises, we are going on another one this winter. Disney is worth the extra money !!!

I love Royal Caribbean. It is my favorite line. We have sailed with Disney, Royal, Princess and NCL. And by far Royal is the most fun. Ships are beautiful, we always book a suite. The waiters in the main dining room are fun, and keep you entertained. They know your name after the first night.
I would recommend Royal to anybody who wants to cruise.

i have only been on one other cruise line outside of RC, which was carinval. Lets put it this way. After the carinval we went right back on RC and been sailing with them ever since and will always.

I love RC, it IMO sets the bar for other lines.

There is just so much to do, i love the activies, the attitudes, the styles, the everything.

You may pay a little more on Royal, but you get better service and the ships are nicer. Not so much Riff Raff on Royal. Better food also.

it all depends on the ship etc... been on great ships from rc and loved it soo much to do. been on bad ones too. it also has alot of families and alot of couples in 40s and older people (the red hat society took over a whole floor once) but the same goes for carnival who is their main competitior price wise. i would recommend looking at what the ship offers (some rc offer skating rock climbing etc..) but rc has great food and service.
if u are in a younger age range carnival might be better. carnival tends to be cheaper and their rooms are bigger. rc u feel like your in a box.

hi,
i like RC. They are a good value. They have promoted the fact that people who like "Active lifestyles" will enjoy their cruises. Some have ice skating rinks, Movies under the stars,Rock climbing walls. Lots of activities. But you might check Princess (which is a great cruiseline for many different age groups/ and families) and Holland america(which i enjoyed very much). Try www.cruisecritic.com for information. Good luck

good value for the money. Not the top end or fanciest but we enjoyed ourselves and fond most of the food to be pretty good. Our favorite so far has been Holland America
