Question: Is the any thing as Aviation Enginnering other that Aerospace Engineer which I know my school offers as a four year degree. I am EE major

I think he is an aviation engineer in the same way the garbage man is a sanitation engineer.

He may have learned on the job. Normally, any sort of engineering requires at least a college degree, and an advanced degree is better.

How old was he and what did he say he did?
I would expect him to be old and involved in planning aviation routes for efficiency.
