I feel a little mischeivous this afternoon. (14.20 in the UK).

I am reminded of a wonderful, compelling Christian quote which I commend not only to the judgemental and the dogmatic but also to the Crew.
'Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in Heaven'.

It would be very pleasant to escape from the above mentioned judgemental and dogmatic to a mystic forum - but not to exclude this one, with all its verbal cruelty. And, in any case, I don't think we'd get away with it.

((((Gnostic))))

While it's always nice to find a cozy retreat where like minds can openly share ideas, one role of the 'mystic' and spiritual person to be of the world and shine light into the dark. We should, IMO, always seek to focus on the divine sparks in all we encounter so that those sparks may join into a flame of unconditional love and goodwill.

Gnostic and so many of the 'mystics' here shine an abundance of light and radiate joy. It would be a shame to hide that away from those who need it most. The Cosmic Crew embraces the concept of oneness and inclusivity, not separation.

No matter what may take place in the world and/or on YA - whether war or peace, strife and aggression or understanding conciliation - we serve in joy.

A quote that seems pertinent:

"Much will depend upon what you and all men of goodwill think and what they do. I would like to remind you of another most encouraging thing, and that is that the power wielded by those who are seeking to live as souls and in touch with the soul and the world of spiritual realities is out of all proportion to their registered sense of power and usefulness.

You are, as you endeavor to wield spiritual force constructively and selflessly, far more potent than you realize. If you add to this realization the recognition that you are not alone in this, but that people with a vision similar to yours and with the same ideals and spiritual aspiration are to be found in every country without exception of any kind, in every religion, group and organization, then indeed you can go forward with courage and with hopeful faith. If this is a statement of fact (and I believe it to be so) then let us go forward in unison with our brothers everywhere, conscious of opportunity, of strength, of responsibility and of the joy of service."

hmmmm.... a bit of both maybe. I remember childhood psychic experiences. Auras, past lives, 'invisible' companions. Standing next to someone and suddenly"knowing' their life story. So, yes, I was born with vast capabilities, that I remember having and sharing. My mom was appalled, what to do with me? Her best advice was to shut it all down as much as possible. Which I did, for the most part. So then, I was sort of "unmade". Then later, I decided I wanted to change that, and reactivated. Now, I am still refining/learning that the deeper I throw down my roots into the Earth, the higher my branches reach. Meaning, the more grounded I cause myself to be, the more mystical, psychic and awakened I experience myself. Also, the more I am willing to claim these states of consciousness as mine, the more they are. So, the short of it is, yes and yes.

It's an interesting thought. And if it were to be made so I would certainly pay a lot of attention to it.

The only nagging thought that is bouncing around is that I think the idea of a forum is to share different thoughts and ideas, preferably as widely as possible. Is it not a 'risk' that if those of us that are 'like-minded' where to be given a sand-box of our very own to play in, that we would just end up slapping each others backs all the 'time', and agreeing what a wonderful lot we are ?

I suspect that it is more useful for us to be 'out there' offering ideas to those in search of something 'different'.

I would so be there. I'm fed up with all this bigotry, hate and plain nastiness that's going on here. All religion, no spirituality. Mind you, I don't mean Xtians exclusively. A fundie is a fundie, no matter what creed or lack of it. But, no doubt, the new forum would soon be the same ... so I don't have any high hopes for it.

Gnostic, I, for one would LOVE to see that happen. However I feel that I would tend to agree with those who believe that the Biblean Christians would see that as a place to come and spread the Hatred. However, That COULD be agod thing as well, we wouldn't have to search far to find the Trolls either, and send them off to Yahoo Hell. LOL

I would like a forum with more real ISSUES discussed from a spiritual and religious perspective. So MUCH doctrine here that goes nowhere. I would like to discuss how to address and solve real life problems and challenges for individuals and societies. There are SO many. Isn't it in the application to life and community of our spiritual beliefs that they achieve their purpose? Isn't it in seeing how meaningfully we apply our spiritual understandings in facing life that gives them value, not only to us but to others? Otherwise, there are so many words, just air.

For example, what does it mean to you that the pivotal teaching of Baha'u'llah is the oneness of humanity? Those are words? Isn't it more important to understand how that concept is applied to individual and community life and situations, how it solves/doesn't solve humanity's problems? To me that is spiritual and religious discussion taken to a higher level. It is something real, genuine, not nit-picking and divisive bantering over dogma.

Consider also that such discussion would be inclusive rather than exclusive. Non-believers and believers in God all want a better life and world. Spiritual principles apply to everyone, even if we prefer to call them a different name. As long as we're referring to the same concept, the categorization of it isn't vital to the discussion.

If people would start answering "Mystic" based questions with their own human understanding then there would be less conflict and complexity. If you always base your answers on doctrines and scriptures then it will raise even more questions coz many people dont believe in them.

Mystical or metaphysical would probably be a better fit for me.
