I am about to buy a half ton full-size truck. I already tried F-150 XLT (5.3 V8), Silverado 1500 LT1 (5.3 V8), Sierra 1500 SLE (5.3 V8), and Ram 1500 (Hemi). Yes, I know it's all about person preference, but I need sort of general opinions on them. What I have found are:
1. F-150: Liked the way it looks in and out. I don't like a bunch of wires and hoses in the hood. Overall good but preformance seems not as good as other trucks. I didn't like the seats. Not comfortable.
2. Silverado: Gas mileage seems a bit better than others. Onsite is good. I found many things have been redesigned and improved. I just don't like the way it looks.
3. Sierra: Almost the same as Silverado, but looks like it gets the best gas mileage.
4. Ram: Really liked the power of hemi. It's awesome. The way it looks in and out is good, but gas mileage looks the worst.
I want to buy F-150 for its attractive outlook, but I like the power of hemi. Don't want to spend $$$ on gas though. Thanks in advance!!!

All of the trucks I tried are almost the same spec and same price.

Forget the chevy. The rear fenders look like crap, and so does the grill. The GMC looks so Much better. It's up to you, but stick to the F-150 or the Sierra, I personally am a Chevy fan, but my next truck could possibly be the F-150. Try autotrader.com. look for the features and colors that you want in those two trucks, and search for the dealer in your area that has 1, kind of like flipping a coin, closest one with the goods with the best deal wins. Personally I think they are both solid trucks. But the GMC has the better warranty. Good luck, great question, (hard answer) 2008 2500 hd diesel GMC, or 2007 F-150 Enforcer package (black for either)

It was used loosely to refer to the payload capacity for the truck back when half a ton was the maximum load capacity of many trucks (before the 1960's), although today most trucks are rated for more than half a ton of load they still tend to be called half tons because it has become synonymous with the pickup truck.

either the ford or chevy truck would be your best bet i would not only look at the upfront cost of the truck but the maintenance cost you'll accumulate. chevy would be the most affordable if you don't believe me call a dealer and ask how much a tune up or transmission fluid exchange would be on a ford or dodge truck.. and yes there is such thing as a half ton full size truck. :)
