Have you ever heard of "M.A.T." (Muslims Against Terrorism)?

Does it surprise you that this is one of many sites and organizations that are completely ignored when it comes to any media? Why do you think that is? We do speak out, but we're ignored. What do you think of the following?

"To help the governments and the media organizations of the Western World in order to understand Islam and Muslims beliefs, Muslims Against Terrorism (MAT) has been established with the following objectives.

To create awareness that Islam requires from its followers to be peaceful and sincere with the all humans.
To educate Muslims and non-Muslims that Islam has no place for terrorism and racism.
To educate Muslims and non-Muslims what Jihad is? And it's various aspects.
To create awareness about the teachings of Qur'an and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) regarding the roles and responsibilities of an individual, a government and a group of Muslims in Muslim and non-Muslim countries.

To help young Muslims in their social, economical and educational affairs.
To provide Muslim perspective to media when needed.
To use the justice system against those media channels (radio, TV and newspapers etc..) which propagate false information against Islam and Muslims
To use justice system against those media channels (radio, TV and newspapers etc.) which identify a terrorist based upon his / her religion.
The Purpose of this organization is to help media and the governments to separate someone's individual action from being portrayed as a community action. A terrorist should be identified and condemned as a terrorist but a terrorist should not be identified with his / her religious affiliation. Why a terrorist who happens to be a Muslim is identified as a Muslim terrorist? How about the terrorists of other religions? Why aren't they identified and associated with their religions?

US installations and citizens are under more terrorist attacks from South American terrorists than any other part of the world. Why aren't they identified as Christian terrorists? The white Supremacist groups in the Western world are fundamentalist Christians. Why their terrorist attacks on Blacks and other ethnic groups aren't reported and associated with their religion. Unless, the people who believe in justice for all are united to standup for their rights, the media will continue to create a negative image of Muslims and Islam.

People only believe what they want to believe, even if there is a clear proof. Many people believe that Muslims are terrorists and will not even have a look at such things.

As was pointed out on Larry King the other day (with Christiane Amanpour and several religious representatives, including a representative of Islam), when muslims attempt to speak out against terrorism it's like yelling in a closed bathroom. Nobody hears. Unfortunately, the sensationalist ones (extremist) make better television so they're the ones that get heard.

Oh, and to um, actually answer the question, no I haven't heard of them before now. But I'm glad you brought them to my attention. Salaam.

I hate that muslims feel that they owe everyone an explanation for what others do. If someone is a terrorist then let them apologize for what they do, let them explain it. And isn't it funny how their attempts are still ignored by the same media that demands this nonsense of ''speaking out against terrorist'. I say Sister that dont go out if ur way to prove to ppl about anything, if they want to belive they will, most infact know the truth about Islam, know that we real Muslims are against killings of innocents, violence but they dont want to accept that as Islam goes against what they do like drinking, clubbing, sex before marriage, etc so they hate Islam for that & will do, say anything to justify their thinking when this so called terrorism occurs, end of the day why dont these ppl look at the roots of the problems, why there is terrorisms, the masscares of Muslims, oppression, occupation of Muslims by Non-muslims, Bosnia, Palestine, Kashmir, Iraq, Afghanistan & amongst other Muslim Nations, the roots need to be sorted first,, then again having said this we Muslims also need to get united, help eachother, practice Islam the way Islam shud be practiced, follow our religion, respect our religion, not fight amongst ourselves, not think about money, not be selfish, not do sins, we Muslims also need to take a look at ourselves, we let these Non-Muslims take advantage of us, cuz we r toos busy into oda tings & against ourselves that nations like USA, UK take over us, we have to be united & defend ourselves no matter what, at the same time be righteous aswell, not be hypocrites, but as i said DONT go out of ur way to prove anything, dont play into ppl's hands, dont act like ppl's slaves, dont be easily lead, gullable, otherwise it will seem Muslims against Muslims, ppl of all faitsh know the truth about Islam how peaceful Islam is, how loving Islam is, the Beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) made his emenies into his freinds by Wisdom, guidence of Allah Subantallah, the Prophet (pbuh) liberated women, men children from slavery, gave them equal rights, properties amongst many other things, ppl know how Islam is, but ppl hate it because it goes against their weak ways, we got nothing to prove, say, the Non-Muslims want us to say this & that so we cab become weak & fall on our knees to them, dont let these ppl put u under pressure, if they dont want to belive then nufin we can do, but pray for them, we have to be righteous oursevlres, get on with our own life best as we can, try to help others & ourselves much as we can, try to be sin free as possible, pray to AllahSWT for guidence, peace, we need to lead out own lives then to prove we Muslims are this & that when infact its waste when ppl are run by satan & dnt want to know, just pray for these ppl, PEACE".
