I found two possibilities:
Nugget, n., naval aviation slang for a student pilot or junior officer http://www.wordorigins.org/index.php/more/896/
Dilbert: Fictional and clueless cartoon character used in WWII era training material to demonstrate what NOT to do in naval aviation. Dilbert often paid dearly for his ignorance, lack of attention to detail, or carelessness.

Not exactly an insult but aviators were called "brown shoe sailors". Regular sailors wore black shoes and aviators wore brown.
