I am unable to remember movies (sometimes details other times most of the movie!), how about you?

Is there a reason I cannot keep a record of movies watched?

I like this question because that's how I am. Although I can remember other things very well, movies just leave my mind as soon as they're over! Sometimes I have a hard time with my netflix movies because I forget the ones I already watched and if no one reminds me I'll order ones I have already watched.

I have a fantastic memory when it comes to movies. Once I've seen a movie, it's pretty much 90% in my head/memory, save for maybe small moments or specific dialog exchanges. And if I enjoy a movie, I tend to watch it a number of times (especially after if first comes out on Blu-Ray), so certain films I can pretty much quote all the dialog, start-to-finish, word-for-word. (Which has become sort-of a game with me and my friends when I watch certain movies- seeing how much of the dialog I can remember) Once I've seen a film, even if I don't see it again for a decade, I will remember most of it.

BUT I do know a lot of people who will pretty quickly forget significant details of movies they've seen, or will just completely forget about them. It just depends. Some people can remember certain things, some can't. Even though I have a good brain for remembering movies, stories and odd factoids, I can barely recall anything academic I've ever learned in any of my schools. I don't even remember a lot of basic math or history, because my brain just doesn't seem to want to process of remember those sorts of facts.

Wow, I thought I was the only one. I can only remember whether it was good or bad. But I can never remember exactly what happened. Sometimes it comes back to me a week or so later, but most of the time it doesn't. Despite all this, I can't re-watch movies because I've already seen them.

It's a bit strange....

Most of the time this happens because most cant pay attention long enough to remember a whole movie.

If I like the movie of course im going to remember parts of it. But if it something that was boring why bother? If you can't remember all the movies you watch I be worried......

It happens... sometimes I'll remember most of the movie & not know perfectly how it ended.
I don't think it's a attention deficit synd, or something crazy ;)

there are possible 2 reasons:
1. if the movie is lame, you WON'T remember what happened
2. people forget- it's life- it's up to you if u want to make it up

Dude! I never do either. I've decided they're just 2 hours (or however long they are) that I can't get back again. I'll know which ones I've seen but never the details. No idea why!
