Are you the youngest in your family? Maybe your brothers and sisters are going to college and you're the only one left. Try to ask them why you have all these rules. Make sure you get a personal answer back not just because I said, so because they should have a very good reason. Maybe your mom had bad experience with boys and don't want you to get hurt.

Things are so crazy today, they are scared of the world.
You need a strategy. Can you use the computer an additional hour (or two) if you are looking up things to help with your homework? Maybe you can pick one or two of the important things listed above and work on getting those and leave the others out.
For example, if you get a part-time job, maybe you can use your own money to go to the movies in a group of young people (instead of a single date with one guy).
What about driving? Do you have your license? Learning to be a safe driver might be worth more than most of the things that you have on your list!
Pretend you don't want the other stuff--like piercings, hair dye, makeup.

hi dear,I am 27 year old girl.unmarried. tell me one thing please. when your child going to 16. would u allow her all these things.what u want to do at the age of 16.All this rules means that your family are taking intrest in your career, your future.they want to make you something.some important person of our society. In the age of 16 u know that instead i am telling you i am not going to treat u as a baby u will become the best friend of me. ok
we have only one life, u cannot reverse your life can you.its your choice u spend your precious time in a WHY DO THEY TREAT ME LIKE A BAbY????
ok i love my folks but i am 16 and here are my rules:
no make-up
no boyfriend
no dyed hair
no pirceings (not even ears!)
no nail polish!
no friends over after 6:00 pm
no parties (can't go to 1 either)
no sleep over (can't even go 2 1)
no dates
1 hour of tv a day
1 hour of coumputer a day.I have no restriction from my mother and father.apsolutely its your choice what u want to do. spend your precious time on your bf,spend your energy on some creative work,to make your shinning career everybody like your personality, not your lipstic, one should be self dependent intelligence cannot be counted by external beauty. you are 16 year old mature girl, think about it and you are very lucky to have that type of intelligent parents.you know that The discipline is the key of success.Yes your are apsolutely right that you are not a baby then why u act like a baby, these your requirements are only due to your age of 16. u are in the process of being a lady from a girl , so the psychological, physical, changes are there.you should have some goal in your life, or u think that make up, boy friend, late night parties, etc all these things u want to do can make u a better human being or ur education, your post, your authority, will make u powerful and respectful person in future its totally your choice, one thing which i do u can also try, i ask from my heart what is right of wrong because i think god lives in it and he gave the directions when u are confused in some matter than listen your heart, calculate your day what u are getting.per (s/m/per hrs)after some afforts soon you will realise what exactly u want to do. want to become a ordinary girl.or some authority person.your present (which involve your minute hour)will make your future.its totally your choice, how u spend your time, your (second)just be calculative. If u do so soon u become less talker person u dont like even your parents to talk because your time is precious not a ordinary girl u have to fly high, u have to read u want to learn judo, music, etc so many things are there, think in that way, its totally ur choice. If u want to be something then some cost should be paid for that the cost is all the things which kill your time, those things which create huddles in carrer and future.U automatically hate the things.I am not going to tell u that dont enjoy ur life love, journey, friends etc all are the part and parcel of your good life. but make sure what u want from them to make huddle of your goal or a stair to achieve your goal.after all its your choice, u are a mature girl, u have to take your own descision.but its important to take the right fruitful descision otherwise u have to wept whole life. if u want to talk more about this topic then mail me or lets have chat. ok
your best friend

Well sorry to tell you but they do love you and they are trying to take some interest in your future. The no nail polish thing could be due to a possible religious believe. Old time Pentecostal have believes in doing or Not doing these very same things. I kind of wish that my mom or dad would of had more rules for me and my siblings to follow. My oldest brother was sent to a boys home and got a girl pregnant. My older sister ran away from home to have SEX and got involved on heavy dry, to find out she was pregnant. Of course she quit then. four months after having her first she was pregnant again and she wasn't sure who the father of either of them were. My youngest brother dropped out of school at the age of 17. My younger sister and I are the only two out of five that graduated from HIGH school. No she is almost $20 thousand dollars in debt because she wanted to live the American dream and have no job for almost 2 years. Wow isn't she paying for it now. And just think if my parents would have made all of us study more where would we all be. I am a happily married woman who has decided to become a stay at home mother. I am hoping to encourage my kids like yours are trying to do for you. If you ever need to chat just email.

Well you are definatley right, they do have way to many rules for you considering the fact you are 16. Now oviously your parents have to be understanding in someway, you should go to them (or one of them if that makes it easier) and say "Im 16 and a young adult I will be 18 in 2 years and I need so independence. I think that I should be allowed to go out more or have people over longer. How about I do 2 hours of homework, you check over it? Then I can go spend the night out or something. Your taking over the part of my life that will help me in the future. I think your parents need to know that independence will be key when you go off to colledge and stuff so bring that up...be like Im 16 i dont feel like your trusting me and if you realli wanted to show you loved me you would..talk in out okay?

I think they say no make-up is because you are beautiful the Way you are.
I think they don't want you to date is because they want you to focus on your studies.
I think they don't want you to dye your hair is because your hair is already pretty.
Is it that important to get hole in your ears. They have earrings you can wear without getting your ears Perice
A nice manicure will also look nice
No friends over after 6 is because usually dinner is being serve and after wards you guys can have that family time/
You don't need a party to dance.
I bet it's more comfortable sleeping in your own bed.
They don't want you to date because you might not be ready for all the none sense boys take you through.
All the profanity and sex on t.v. is probably why not so much t.v. it will rot your brain.
Too much computer will get you in trouble.
One hour of homework, I bet you get good grades huh.
You are living your life just with supervision. Don't worry my dear you will have enough time to experience life outside of your parents home and you pray that you was taking all that they taught you to heart because you will need it.

Sounds like they are very old fashioned and very protective. Have you talked to them? It is unfortunate when parents try to lay out their childrens lives and styles for them. I have 4, my son is 14 and has a mohawk. I believe in freedom of expression. How else are you going to discover who you are? Talk to them, see if they will let up on a few things. You will be an adult soon. They need to give you more freedom or you won't be ready for the real world.

Oh my God, Sweetheart, I'm sorry, see i got some of those rules and luckily not all of them. I know how you feel but here's what you should do : talk to both your parents, of course this won't be an easy approach but u gotta be brave, just kindly ask them for a little more priveleges since you're growing up. you go girl, you got my blessing and wishes. LUvvvv Ya! and GOOD LUCK!

Talk to them, because that is ridiculus. They want to keep you their little girl forever by sheltering you from the rest of the world so that it's a frightenning place, so you won't want to leave them.
If you want to do something about it, talk about moving away because you want to have your own life, and freedom. This will scare them, because their plan will have back-fired. It SHOULD make them give you some more freedom, especially since you are old enough to move out now.

Obviously your parents were the type to get carried away when they were your age and couldn't be trusted. Now they are projecting that sense of guilt on you. Tell them that if you aren't allowed to experience a decent social life, you will turn out as screwed up as they are.
If that doesn't get them to relent, tell them I'm old enough to be their parent (I am), and they're in for a good spanking.
