Paul as an apostle to the Gentiles, wrote epistles (letters) to the various churches. The first letter to the Corinthians was an effort to stop certain conditions within the church that were a problem. The problems he tried to solve with this epistle was the purity of the Church. If you read the reasons, which was divisions (verse 18) and heresies (verse 19) you will see that this is his advice to that particular church. This is his advice, and he finishes off the chapter, "and the rest I will set in order when I come. (verse 34.)
Some people would consider this good advice for the time. Today, not so much.

When we read the Bible, we need to examine the culture that it was written in, and who the text is directed to. I believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, but I do not believe every command recorded in Scripture applies to me.
The Bible cannot be outdated because it contains tomorrow's news headlines. There are hundreds of fulfilled prophecies in the Bible, and hundreds more that will be fulfilled in the future. (Perhaps the very near future.)

The Bible is not out dated. In fact mankind's scientific knowledge is just now starting to catch up to God's scientific knowledge which is recorded in the Bible making the Bible a science book that is still millions of years ahead of us humans. We are the one's who are ancient.

Yes, the bible is not only outdated, but, totally and blatantly hypocritical and inconsistent. People thousands of years ago had ignorance as a legitimate excuse for believing it is the word of god. People who believe this today are just plain fools. I have more respect for real sheep.

It's outdated. But the Bible (like the Quran) are not really being used to build faith, they're really last ditch efforts to build nationalism under one single unquestionable ideology. That's a civilization on its way to demise, if you learn the lessons of history.
