Throw it out!! Better safe than sorry.
Found some information for you (from Mayo Clinic's website):
Blepharitis is an inflammation of the eyelids. The condition affects the skin of the eyelids, and it usually involves the part of the eyelid where the eyelashes grow (lid margins).
Blepharitis can be difficult to treat. Treatment includes good hygiene — regular cleaning of the area — to control signs and symptoms and prevent complications. If your condition doesn't improve, contact your doctor. He or she may prescribe an antibiotic cream or ointment. In severe cases, eyedrops containing antibiotics and steroids may be prescribed. If your blepharitis is linked to an underlying cause such as dandruff or rosacea, treating those conditions may alleviate the blepharitis.
Blepharitis rarely disappears completely. Even with successful treatment, relapses are common. Paying extra attention to good hygiene at those times may help bring the condition back under control.

Yes it can. The infection could be in the tube, growing more and more staff. Get rid of all your makeup and start fresh. If you use brushes over and over, then boil them in hot water. Sorry; I know it's expensive, but it's your vision. You don't want to loose your vision because you were a tightwad.

Yes, get rid of the makeup. There are no medicinal or antibody qualities in makeup to stop the staff from incubating, waiting for you to use it again. Also throw away your contacts or saline solution if you wear contacts.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mascara should be replaced every 3 months to stop nasties building up in the container in the best circumstances.
Staph is highly contagious.
ANYTHING that may have been infected needs to be sterilised or disposed of.
Make up, face washers, towels, pillow cases .......
Re-infection can be dangerous.

yes but you should be throwing all eye makeup away after having it open for 6 months...it's no good after that...there are no preservatives in it to keep it on the shelf any longer...keep your makeup fresh and you shouldn't have any problems...
