Drinking lots of water helps a lot.

I also live in a hot humid environment and having moved from a hot and dry environment didn't really help. I've found this helps:

*Drink lots of water. (We keep bottled water in the house because Houston water is - well - ew)

*Clearasil Daily Cleanse - Daily Face Wash (it's easy to spot, it stands on it's opening, and is blue and white on the 'tube' (it's not a 'bottle' like many shampoo and conditioner's are). I've been very pleased with the Clearasil product line.

*an astringent between days you aren't using the Clearasil (if you need it, I do but the Clearasil dries my face out a lot, see how the clearasil works and go from there, I prefer to stick with the Clearasil product line, I've been really happy with how quickly it's worked. But I also like the Oxy pads too for this, either works just as well).

I've been doing this while living in Las Vegas and Houston. Read the instructions on the Clearasil (I use it a little differently because of a medical issue with my skin so I apologize that I don't recall the exact directions) and after trying it tweak it's usage based on your type of skin (there is a sensitive skin Clearasil product if your skin is more sensitive like mine). If you find that whenever you determine to use the Clearasil product that your skin still feels oily, get yourself an astringent to apply (for example, I use my Clearasil every 2-3 days - in-between I use an astringent to remove any oily feeling).

I know the humidity at least in the Gulf Coast states is like stepping into a sauna, and skin gives you that oily feeling pretty quick. There's a few homeopathic ways to heal the skin of scars from blemishes if you need them. Things like a Tomato, Mint Juice and a Lemon can be used to heal the skin when scars from blemishes exist.

Good Luck. Hope this helps!

Drinking lots of water is a MUST!

I have oily skin and blemish prone skin as well. I used Proactiv for about a year and honestly I wasn't very pleased. It didn't change my skin one bit (except for drying it out and making it itchy). I then switched to Oxy Chill Factor-Daily Wash. It works wonders. I used it and my skin improved within a week. It cleared up the blemishes that I had and I also noticed a decrease of oil on my skin. I really like it. It is really gentle and when you put it on your face it feels so good!

Moisturize! Just because you have oily skin doesn't mean you don't need to moisturize. Use and oil free moisturizer. (Moisturizing can greatly reduce oil production.) My recipe is 1/2 cup water 3tsp. vegtable glycerin and 5 drops lemon essential oil. Apply with a cotton ball. Cornstarch works well thruout the day to reduce shine & oil. Hope this helps!

An oily skin , as the name implies, is one in which the sebaceous or oil-producing glands are over active. As surface grease tends to attract dirt, an oily skin acquires a dirty surface film , that needs to be removed daily. For more details log to http://useinfo-oilyskin.blogspot.com/

Patchouli oil is amazing for oily/blemish prone skin. It will not clog pores and it promotes healing.
