We are having trouble finding a first dance song that isn't the typical "top 20 list"
Any suggestions?

We used "Near You Always" by Jewel in our wedding program. It wasn't our first dance (because we didn't have one), but I think it's such a beautiful song.
Eternal Flame by the Bangles
I'll Stand By You by the Pretenders
P.S. Carrie Underwood also does a REALLY pretty version of I'll Stand By You.

I have two perfect songs for a first dance at a wedding. They are not songs that you hear very often on the radio but the lyrics are beautiful. My first choice for a first dance song would be "Grow Old With Me" by Mary Chapin Carpenter. Perfect wedding song!! It's a song about growing old with the person you're marring. Check out the song and listen to the lyrics because the song is so beautiful!!! My other favorite romantic song of all times that would also be a wonderful first dance song is "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You" by Glenn Medeiros. That song also is very beautiful as well. Also listen to this song and lyrics as well!! I hope you like my two choices for a first dance song at your wedding!!! Under Control by The Strokes or Swallowed in the Sea by Coldplay. I think those would be really nice first songs that are not expected.

I've had my song picked out for years, and my usually picky fiance actually likes it! It's "We've Only Just Begun" by the Carpenters. It is about the start of a marriage.

We've only just begun. It has been around for years and is a beautiful wedding song. It was sung at my wedding 34 years ago. The words are perfect.

A songthat you both like it doent matter where its from what it says or who sings it! Try Disney songs !

Dave Matthews Band - Steady As We Go...great song with great lyrics, but not "mainstream".

my favorite songs for that purpose, are either Michael Buble's "You and I", the words are PERFECT for a first dance, or Frank Sinatra's "Someone to watch over me", both beautiful songs.
