I watch a lot of shows on Discovery Health and one had this girl in Florida who had a june bug in her ear. She was freaking out and worrying that it was eating her brain. The doctor said it couldn't' get there because past the ear drum is bony surfaces it wouldn't be able to get through. A bug could break your ear drum and ruin your healing, not to mention the worry of infection.

Yes. A bug can get into your ear. "Near" is a relative terms... so you could say that the middle ear is near the brain.

Depends what you mean by NEAR....
It can get pretty far i there and there have been stories about spiders living inside people's ears for days or weeks.... But as far as getting to your brain, Nope.
If they could, surgeons could go in through your ear to do brain surgery without having to break out the bandsaw.

It can go into your ear, but it can not go into your brain. There are bones that block this, if you have something in your ear and it is bothering you, better go to an emergency room or a doctor, this could cause an infection that could effect your hearing. Good luck!

My daughter had to have a doctor remove a tick from her ear last year, the tick was deep in her ear and caused damage to her ear drum. I don't know about getting to your brain though
God Bless

Bugs can get into your ear but it is highly doubtful it could ever get to your brain.
