I hope that someday I can get a German Shepherd because they are so loyal and I love the look of them, especially when they are working with the police. There's something so honorable about them to me. On the other hand, we have had several retired Greyhounds and have loved having them as part of the family. They need homes desparately, they come housebroken already, are very easy going usually, shed little, and typically are sweet and quiet.

If I could buy any type of dog breed it would be a Shar-Pei. I already have one and she is the greatest family dog. Another great breed character, which can also be negative for some, is that they are stand-offish with strangers. This is good for someone who wants a lovable yet very protective pet. They also come in a wide variety of colors, lilac, blue, black, apricot, sable, white, fawn, flowered, pied, red, and dilute. On top of that, they have three different types of coats, the horse coat, which is the roughest, the brush, which is the in between(my puppy, I love her), and the bear coat which is the softest. When they are puppies they are nothing but wrinkles, it's an acquired taste but it'll grow on you.

Chihuahua! =) You shouldn't pick your dog breed from these results though...They might be suited to one family that excercise 2 hrs. everyday but might not be suited to a family that lives in apartment and hardly exercises at all. If you are looking for the right dog breed, get the book Your Purebred Puppy. It is TREMENDOUSLY helpful!

I have owed two Great Danes, they both have been wonderful pets. They are great companions, very loving, caring and very gentle. Although they seem to sometimes think they are lap dogs. They both have a wonderful personality. There is never a dull moment with these sweeties. Good Luck on your pet hunt =)

A standard poodle. They are very smart and trainable, protective, hypoallergenic, They are a hunting dog (Water retreiver) and very loving. The only down side is you have to get them a haircut every 6 or so weeks.

I already own my two dream dogs, a poodle and a bichon. I know they're "girl" dogs, but I'll tell you why I love them. Poodles are nearly as smart as people, and they're always happy and have sweet dispositions. They are also good dogs for walking and playing.

Bichons are strictly companion dogs, and mine doesn't care what's happening in the world as long as he is laying under my chair, at my feet or by my side.

Getting a dog is always exciting. Good luck.

My opinion. German Shepherd Dog .Do some research though and find a dog that fits your lifestyle. Don't go by popularity or looks.

Idk, i think it really depends on where im at in life. If i have a really nice big house, I would love to have a pair of sibling Great Danes.

But if im living in a small house, or an apartment, I would prefer to have maybe 2 dachshunds and a little chihuahua.
