Good Evening! For those of you who don't know me, I'm T, the very proud lil sister of our gorgeous Bride. I am honored for the opportunity to toast the bride and the groom as the maid of honor today. I want to start by congratulating C and K, and thanking all of you for coming here today!
I would like to also say thank you to my parents, for all that you've done to make this the special day that it is. And, of course, my gratitude to Mr. & Mrs. L and family for all your support and travel time to make this the perfect day for C and K.
C, I have to admit, I'm impressed with the way you cleanup. You look very handsome today! I want you to know, you have passed a tough test. As we all know, any man who can live up to the standards of K's sisters is a stand-up guy. On a more serious note, and on the behalf of the family, we would like to welcome you and your family into our family. Or as they say in Holland, . . . . (Groom is from Holland)

K, where do I begin? I have never seen you look so beautiful. Even better than your senior prom, with the french braid and babies breath in your hair. I know you have waited your whole like for this moment and it is finally here. You planned for months and you stressed out over the smallest details. Because with a little bit of luck and a lot of hard work, you're wedding will be exactly like your mother imagined!!!
I thought long and hard about some great marital advice to share with the two of you. I thought, what could I provide with only six years of experience? Then I thought about a some advice Mom gave me the night before I was getting married. So therefore that equals 46 years of experience and I think that is pretty good. She told me to always remember love is a choice.
On the surface it sounds fairly clinical and an unromantic assessment, but if you think about it a little deeper you will realize that there is truth

in these words. It's easy to fall in love. When a couple first meet, neither can do wrong.
But reality sets in over time and life happens . . . you start to realize that love is actually a “conscious choice of your commitment you made together earlier today.” With this belief we will be right back here celebrating your anniversary in 50 years.
That being said, here's to C and K, may your laughter be often, your tears be few and your joys be doubled!!! Cheers!!!!

WAY WAY TOO LONG! Let the bride and groom thank the parents and guests if they so desire. It is not something that need to be in a TOAST. This is not a speech from you to the guests. It's a toast to the bride and groom.
Try this:

the abbreviated speech a couple posts above me is exactly one minute in length spoken. yours is exactly two minutes, i timed it also. if you have the type of family who would appreciate this longer type of toast, definitely go for it, it is lovely and classy on many levels. i dont know how you came up with it, but i assure you i have been to very very important weddings where the maid of honor speech was every bit as long and not a tenth as nice. sometimes i think toasts at weddings are quite a wonderful opportunity to say the things you are saying, and in so many cases the bridal party seems clueless about this, and completely miss many of the points you are making in your toast. i would rather err of the side of being a bit more inclusive, like you have been, and like this answer is, haha. i give it two thumbs up, haha.

It's a toast! So, I agree that it's wayyyyyyy too long. Trust me, I've been to enough weddings that no one wants to hear a speech! Keep it short and sweet and under 30 seconds! And you won't be the only one giving a toast.
It's cool that you want to say a lot of nice wonderful things, but trust me you'll start seeing people yawn, look away or even roll their eyes!! Wouldn't that be upsetting! Watch, someone else will do their toast/speech and watch the look on everyones faces!! Trust us, you don't want to go too long!
Say something like, " To my sister K and new brother C; may you cherish every day like it were your last and every night like your first....To the bride and groom!" Trust me, that's a good tear jerker :)
God bless!

I think that is a very nice speech. One note though, since it is fairly long, make sure to practice it so that it sounds natural and not like you are reading the index cards (which I am sure you will have).
I like how you used humor, I might shorten it but other than that I think it's great!
Good luck!

It is much, much, much too long. You have to remember that you won't be the only person giving a toast. You lost me after the third paragraph about the groom cleaning up and telling him he looked handsome, which was kind of weird. Keep it short and sweet.

it sounds almost like you found it on some wedding toast website. I do like the french braid part though.
