The Canadian anthem actually gets played at Michigan, New Hampshire, and Watkins Glen, due to their proximity to Canada and a decent number of Canadian fans.

Anytime NASCAR races in an area where they know they will have Canadian fans, they sing their anthem but in the south, they don't do it. It is not done at every race.

Cause it's near the border of Canada and a lot of Canadians come to the race

Been to NHIS a few times and never heard the Canadian national anthem. I'd have to side with tamato9980 that its played when there is a Canadian driver racing.

Canadians are a large part of the crowd that attends the races near the border.

I agree with MUD WRANGLER. I lived in MN for 38 years and every sporting event I ever attended in MN, WI, MI whether it was hockey, basketball, football, dog shows all had both anthems. It's something the border states just do. I'm not sure Carpentier had anything to do with it. Ambrose was driving too and they didn't play the Aussie anthem.

I think they only do it when they race near the Canadian Boarder. Maybe to get more Canadians to the race? Or because there are a lot of them there.

I seriously doubt we will hear it at Bristol!

They ran a Busch race in Montreal a couple of weeks ago. They probably played it there for that reason. I have not heard Oh Canada at any other NASCAR race.

I googled to see if I could find out why and there is not anything out there...

I think they did that at Watkins Glen because Patrick Carpenter was racing there for Gillett Evernham Motorsports. He's Canadian.
