No. Is a brazil nut or a coconut evidence of intelligent design? There are many things in this world that seem to indicate a rather UNintelligent design. The banana just got lucky.

no, the cavendish banana was formed by hybridisation, random mutation and *artificial* selection (by humans). if you're prepared to call that intelligent design, then i guess it is intelligent design. the wild type banana is almost unrecognisable as a banana.

But..but...what about pineapples? Those things are annoying to peel! And coconuts are downright dangerous. I've heard of people seriously injuring themselves trying to open them with knives, hammers, axes, etc. ID goes right down the toilet when trying to explain that.
