can I just say what a fantastic question!! It is so refreshing to hear of people considering things before they get pregnant - weel done!!
Well I wish I had more money put away to subsidise me not working. I also wish I had studied what I wanted to before my first - it is impossible for me to really do that now as money, money bloody money is always a factor.
So in summary! Money!
Best of Luck xx

I graduated from college, then I worked for a single year before I became pregnant by surprise. Sure, I love being a well-educated SAHM, but I'm also paying $500 a month in student loans. I wish that I had learned a trade in high school, then worked full time through college. I was really seduced by the full ride I was offered, but I'm still really far in debt. I just wish that I had more money when I had children. I do have money now, but it took my husband joining the Army and deploying. I would rather be broke again and have him back. Anyway, I wish I had been out of debt before becoming a mom.

Parenting styles, his or her future, Where you want to raise him or her. ..religion, taking parenting classes, read read read!!! Especially developmental books by age. Psychology is an important issue too, and there are resources that you can get ahold of that are not more in depth than you need. Understanding a child inside and out will make you a well balanced, caring and love parent. Babies don't come with a handbook, and you should know all you can before you have a child.
There is not a greater blessing on this earth that to create and raise a child together, but if you aren't prepared, it can be a disaster...
It's a great question!!!

I second that should have finished college part. Its definitely hard to wake up and attend class when your 8 months pregnant, too big to fit in the desks, and waddling all over campus. Its a HUGE change in your life. You'll be up all hours of the day/night. Just be ready to do anything and everything, and be prepared to do it on your own (b/c you most likely) wont have help 24-7. GOOD LUCK!

Talk about your parenting styles, what you goals for the child are, and what your disciplining techniques are. My husbands and mine were similar but my friends have had BIG problems with this. Of course, make sure you have lots of money, because kids are expensive.

- You won't be able to sleep. Might sound obvious but you have no idea how tired you will be.
Having a baby is worth it but man is it completely and totally exhausing!

My husband and I did talk. But there are alot of things that we should have done first. Such as getting our finances right.

I should have finished college first, but we're making it work. Anything is possible with hard work and dedication.
