Jealous?

Does mommy love the dog more than you?

Why else would this bother you?

Grow up.

I get your point that you don't like the clutter of water bowls. (they can spill and leave weird marks...) This is the thing, if the dogs were able to get water for themselves and take it into the next room, there would be no need for the extra water. However, unless your dogs are stand up right and walking dogs, they can't get their own. Just like you shouldn't put a soda in each room, because you CAN go to the fridge and get another.

I say as long as she is taking care of the bowls and cleaning up... there is no problem.

Yes, me.

You can get something to drink from the fridge or the faucet, the dog can't.

Better to have several bowls of water around in case one is empty and we forget to refill it, that way the dog has other sources of water.

Dogs can get major kidney problems if they don't have enough fresh water - be nice, fill up some of those bowls too - what does it hurt you to be kind to your dog?

I have just one 5 quart pan for my dogs, and a few smaller bowls (up on tables, etc,) for my cats. But my dogs let me know when their bowl is empty. My German Shepherd will go and get the bowl and sit it at my feet,or the other dogs will stare at me and then run to the kitchen so I know thay need fresh water! Maybe your Mom just wants to make sure the dog doesn't run out of water.I wouldn't let it bother me.

Sometimes extra water bowls around the house helps encourage the dog to drink. Very important, expecially in the summer, that your dog drinks plenty of water.

Its your mom's house.. why should you care if she leaves water bowls all over the house for the dog?

I would think that 4 bowls are a bit extreme IMO but have you asked her why she does...........if the dog is too old / not able to get around as much then maybe that would explain it a bit but we just have the one big bowl down in the kitchen but we also have a one level open plan house so it is easy.

besides like already said at least mum loves and looks out for the pooch....

regards

as long as the bowl is a fair size and always has clean water, that is enough. if the dog has constant access to the kitchen or where the one bowl is that's all it needs. reassure her that its fine with the one bowl. and just checking it every time she goes to the kitchen is fine.
i have the one dog, and all he needs is one dish. he knows where to find it. i top it up every time it gets below half. much easier.

Yeah, it would be me. My dogs need A LOT of water so I have bowls and containers all over the house, inside and out. They can overheat too fast to risk not having excessive water than not enough. Sorry to disappoint. DOGS RULE!!!

No, but it's far better than the ones that don't give their dogs plenty of fresh clean water.. or the guy whose water dish was GREEN with algae cause he neglected to clean and fill the water bowl!

Lol. Look at it this way. It sounds like you have been blessed with a very kind- hearted mother. If she is so loving and thoughtful for a dog, just think how much more she must love you!

Not necessary. One clean bowl of water in the same spot is all that's needed.
