Obviously if you are not a believer, I am interested in what you think people who do believe are attracted to?

If you are a believer, what attracts you to God?

I think most are attracted to Jesus and the messages of peace that are most promenently portrayed... they are good messages...

Then it's the promise of etermal life and being forgiven for wrong-doings...

Third, it appears to be the inclusiveness of a relgious congregation... the social aspects of belonging to a "family."

I think that these are the things that attract people to christianity.

I am a believer in the logical workable God, not the God as defined by religious empires who ask for us to render unto them what is Caesar's (their money).

By all definitions of God, he has no pockets. Therefore, logic would dictate he does not need your money. Where would he put it?

When did the son of God ever ask for money, or a home, or a new pair of $400 shoes, or a fancy car?

Let no preacher call themselves a Christian preacher unless they conduct their financial life like Jesus did.

And, that's what I like about the real God. Not the false God presented by Religious Empires.

I was catholic, then I reached the age of reason.
People are attracted to it for many reasons, but there is one that gets me.
Way back, there were lots of barbaric people that had horrible lives. They had nothing to look forward too. Nothing to give them morals. So, they told the people that this was not the end, that this was just the beginning. They had a chance to live in bliss forever, but only if they are good moral people. Most bought it, it gave them hope. It also brought civilization to barbarians.
Many people still need that comfort that this life is not it, that the have something better coming.

When GOD Flows (Spiritually) through a Believer, there are no words to Explain those Feelings.

When GOD flows through you, you get "High".
That is one Reason why GOD is called "The Most High".

MaryJwanna
Dopey
Al'sCohol
so on, make you High.
These are Imitation Highs (parallel Truths) to the "Most High" were suppose to Feel--All the Time.

Adam and Ever were HIGH on GOD all the Time, till they Blew-It.

Getting High on Other Things is an Attempt to "Climb Back Up" where we Used to Be--long Time ago.
Deep Down Inside of us, we Still know about this "Most High" High.

Hope this helps.

Whoa, so many things and it would take hours to list.

First of all, I love the fact that God does not force anyone, but will prod gently. However, he is wise enough to know that any type of relationship with him should be one that we want. That's why I don't feel that he will force anyone to accept him or why he doesn't prove he exists scientifically.

I also love the fact that as a God, he still cares enough to listen to my whining and my concerns, although I'm sure that he gets tired of my ups and downs at times.

In addition to salvation, I am glad that he teaches us the concepts found in the Beattitudes and in the Fruit of the Spirit.

It is about Source, about Oneness. It is about mutual attraction, the innate need and desire to return to that from which we were spawned, if you will. It is about a Consciousness that draws us in like a magnet as we struggle with our physical existence, knowing there is so much beyond the physical that touches us so simply, effortlessly.

It is about the Tao, the Oneness of Us All, and the essence of Love that touches us and pulls at us and DEMANDS we not only acknowledge the Consciousness of it, but return to it with purity of heart and fullness of soul.

I am a believer in God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. I am with God because He loves me and everyone, He blesses me, He cares for me and He have mercy. Just believe, have faith in Him and many wonderful things happen.

He's a Manly God. I think he might have something I and my friends have coined:

'the holy fcuk' (spelled differently, of course)

He's certainly the one true God, and I'd really like to rotfflbr with Him. (email my other self if you need a meaning, it's a little too spiritualist to post here)

A God that offers permanent punishment for any mistake that breaks his rules or not recognizing his physical self is a Masochists dream. I'm neither Masochist or Christian.

I am attracted to God because He is nothing but love; pure love. He also is gracious, merciful, kind, and forgiving. Everything concerning God attracts me to Him.
