I, unlike the majority here, honestly like it. Unicorn is symbolic of virginity and purity. Although I would only give it to a girl, and probably call her by the middle name of Unity. (the number 1 in math). Could also just call her Uni, which fits for both first and middle names.

probably not. when she's a toddler, you could call her unicorn like for a nickname. but as she grows up she might feel ashamed and embarrased of her name and kids will make fun of her. so no, i dont think that is an appropriate name for a child.
but i would reccomend:

- cindy unity

- ella unity

- lexy unity

- carolyne unity

- brookley unity

- claire unity

those names are FABULOUS! unicorn unity sounds WAAAY too corny. lol.

My mother read a birth notice in her local paper for twins, "Ocean" and "Mermaid." I put "Unicorn" in the same category. You are supposed to like your children, how can anyone do that to someone they like?
Why not pick an inspirational type name. My daughter's middle name is Athena. Athena was the goddess of war (we don't want a wussy daughter), wisdom and weaving (domestic skills are good to have.) If we have another daughter, her middle name will be Sara, after the Indian goddess Saraswati. She's pretty cool too.
I hated my name when growing up, and it's a perfectly sensible name, what is your kid going to think if they don't even start off with that!

I think perhaps you should switch those around. Unicorn would be very problematic for a child in school all their life. Unity is pretty and not so open for snide remarks. Hope this helps!!!

I am sorry, but that is awful. Unity is OK but Unicorn is just cruel. I'm sorry.

Yeah sure if you want them to be beat up and made fun of at school, im sorry but animal names are reserved for animals and the same with foods... there is no need to name your child apple. But if you dont care if your child is miserable for the rest of their life and is never taken seriously than ya sure go ahead.
