I heard sum1 say women shouldn't recite Quran in public becuz her voice is awrah. WTF?!! And they sumhow use this next verse to justify their ruling:

33:32 "O wives of the Prophet! You are not like any other women. If you keep your duty (to Allâh), then be not soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease (of hypocrisy, or evil desire for adultery, etc.) should be moved with desire, but speak in an honourable manner."

WOW! First off, God says this is for the wives ONLY; and they are DIFFERENT from all other women. Second, this "soft speech" is not in reference to relaying the Holy message of Islam but rather using a seductive voice to attract men.

How can Muslims, with any ounce of moral, prevent (or discourage..of ALL THINGS) women from reciting the holy Quran for all to hear??

Women talk at school, work, lectures, singing...and yet...sum "scholars" have the nerve to discourage free reign of God's word for fear of "fitnah"

Astughfirallah I don't know what to say.

Islam certainly does give women voices, doesn't it? I think that societies that have adopted patriarchal ideals are simply wrong.

Mashallah, somebody had the nerve to confront, not only muslims, but non-muslims.. People keep posting verses of the Quran to justify the fact, that islam opresses women, and many other things they think the Quran states. If you take it out of context, then it will seem to mean SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THAN WHAT IT WAS ORIGINALLY MEANT TO SAY... the same thing happens with non-muslims who post verses of the Quran saying the the Quran states to kill the unbelieves. THIS VERSE WAS TAKEN CLEARLY OUT OF CONTEXT, for this verse was for Prophet Muhammed ( he had a revelation ) because the Meccans (the unbelievers) were coming to kill him, and destroy Islam... And this quote is relevant to the time of the PROPHET, NOT TODAY'S SOCIETY!! People use, this and many other quotes, to try and prove the public that Islam is an in-tolerant religion, when it's really a very peaceful one ....

And I wonder how the Prophet's wives, especially Aisha, could teach Muslims about Islam if they are totally prohibited from letting their voice to heard. Aisha is widely known to be one of the main teacher in Islam and narated lots of the Prophet's hadiths.

right this is the excellent element to do: extremely of criticizing people who're against Islam, tutor a number of Islam's love and compassion by skill of information why they're reacting that way. And whilst a terrorist performs a terrible act interior the call of Islam, bypass to Islamic chat rooms and mosques and insist which you and your fellow Muslims bond mutually and brazenly protest (in great numbers) against the terrorists for smearing the call of Islam. it is what i could do (and have performed) on each occasion somebody who's in a team that i'm linked with smears its call.

It's sad how our own brothers and sisters are insulting our religion. This is also why there's so many people that hate Islam.

While on the subject, how come the Quran tells men to beat their wives in their bedrooms?

Or is that a haddith, I apologise. Same source however.
