- and no matter which path they follow - they are insistent that it is the one true way.

Here's my question - For those with Faith that is unshakable, can you imagine another person of a different path whose Faith - through experience, revelation and prayer is equal to yours?

For those of The True Chrisian Faith our knowing is directly from God... the relationship of God and the individual is one-on-one and personal... I can only speak for my self.. and an other of The Faith can only speak for themself... I am of the personal opinion, based opn my own observation and experience that there are probably at least as many, or ,aybe more, who have "absolute faith" based upon self induced hystaria or some other form of deception, as there are those who's Faith is based on a genuine interaction with God.

Faith not based on fact is fantacy.

For those of The True Christian Faith God is The Fact. The Faith is based on each individuals knowledge of the truth of what God has done for the individual. That is a fact that only God and the individual may know. that Fact supports The Faith that what god says will be will indeed come to pass.

Any "fact" concerning God that is based on the works and words of any mortal, other than the personal knowledge of the individual, is not sufficiant to support The Faith... Only God can support The Faith.

Instruction and support from others of The Faith is helpful for those of The Faith. But such instruction must be proven by the personal experience of the individual with God.

The Salvation Message is carried and preserved in the hearts of those of The Faith. it has remained uncorrupted from the beginning... if one is giving The Good News... The Salvation Message... then that one is just as equal in the eyes of God as any other of The Faith... if one claiming to be of The Faith or The Church is not giving The Salvation message... then that one is not " equal"... and is either a deceiver or being decieved or both

I'm beginning to think that the real difference between atheists and religious is the ability you are talking about. Who can imagine another's perspective? Atheists seem to have a greater ability to line up beliefs next to each other and examine their value. Religious people take their faith aside, judge all other beliefs with the skepticism of an atheists, but cannot view their own in the same way.

I know of many whose misguided faith has brought shame to their religion who were unshakeable enough to blow themselves up in order to take some of the "infidels" with them. Yes, I can imagine someone who is as unshakeable as I am. My faith teaches me to love my enemy and I wish that were true of all. I am not much on religion, just a grateful soul that I can worship my God.

Edit: Kalevala made a very good point. "Unshakeable" does not equate "unteachable" to me. I hope to grow and mature in my faith.

Yes. I am a Christian (not a missionary) and I live in Taiwan. Some years ago, a female friend in her mid-thirties was pregnant, and the doctor suspected there may be problems with the baby. My friend had amniocentisis, and had to wait ten days for the result. In the meantime, she went to the local temple and asked Quan Yin (Chinese Goddess of Mercy) if the baby would be OK. Quan Yin said yes. That was the end of my friend's worry. She was calm and relaxed, and accepted the good result of the test after ten days as if the result was a foregone conclusion. She and her husband had another baby after that.

Who am I to say my friend should convert to Christianity, just because I'm one?

Yes. There are many ways for people to find God. Finding God and having religion is different from faith. Though sometimes people seem to think using these three terms interchangeabley is ok. So, it just confuses things. Relgion, God and Faith are three different things.

Unshakable faith is a belief that is concrete....that cannot be altered from where it stands.

There is also time and the implications of constant change....and so my belief is always changing...but none-the-less unshakable. I believe that my faith will always change. Over-time it will strengthen and move towards a deeper aspect of who I am.

I imagine that many people are experiencing the same unshakable and ever-changing faith.

My faith is absolutely unshakable, because I believe that all paths are valid avenues toward Oneness. Once ANY Christian acknowledges that Jesus is their Savior, and if they truly choose to follow HIS teachings, then they must acknowledge that He told us, "I am known by many names," and thus, must acknowledge that ALL religions, even Atheism, are valid pathways.

Whether we call Him Jesus, Jehovah, Krishna, Diana, Adonai, Buddha, Shiva, Mohamed, Allah, All That Is, God, Goddess, oh, please, I could go on and on and on -- or Me at my Highest State of Being -- it really is all about HOW we live, not WHAT we call our Source.

For those who limit themselves with dogma and tradition, for those who cannot see beyond their holy books, for those who do not truly own their truth, faith is no longer faith, it is instead a chore -- a daily effort to impress what they cannot see with words that they do not own.

I thank my Source for instilling in me a Fusionistic vision.

((((Vicarious))))

How can I tell?
Everybody is unique, I mean no body the same, even twins has differences between each other.

So, the faith of each person (even in the same religion), is actually "different".
The concept maybe the same, that's why they join together, but come to detail ???? I dont think so.

The truth???
Who knows????
I believe mine is the true one, why cant others believe theirs is the true ones.

Equal???
I think the concept of "GOD" is so different between Islam and Christians.
I think Trinity concept is more like Hindu.

Budhism I believe dont have God.

It's NOT Equal in my opinion, but .....so what ????
I can live happily in a circumstances w different beliefs in it.

My husband married w me as a muslim ( he was atheist before), his 2 sons I dont know what they believe; I didn't interfere them at all abt their faith and rituals, we didn't even talk abt religion, we all did and do whatever we think is right.
We care abt each other as family member with concern and understanding.
We keep our private being as private but open.
I pray infront of them, I fast infront of them, I went to Hajj on my own but hubby took me to the airport, and fetched me - no different before and after.

I hope, my answer relate to the question. Sorry if I misunderstand you.

Salaam

Yes, I can. I know that God influences many people of many different faiths. People have different experiences and revelations and I am quite certain that God hears each of their prayers and answers them. I do believe that God guides people in the way He wants them to go. I am not one to judge others; that is up to God. I do believe He loves all of His children and that He will be their guide. I have been in many different churches throughout my life and have seen God work His miracles in many ways in each of these churches with many members of each group. Faith is faith, no matter which church you belong to. If you believe in God and know Him, I believe He guides you and hears your prayer.
