I remember once I was applying for a job in a warehouse, and they hand me this 15 page math test to fill out, along with a very lengthy application.

I proceeded to rip up the math test and throw it in the air before I walked out.

I told them that I'm not in grade school, so I'm not filling out their stupid little test test.

I'm very good at math btw, so that wasn't the issue.
I just refuse to jump through the flaming hoop.

What would you have done?

Math test in a warehouse job?
Something does not add up!
Isn't this stuff barcoded?
I think if you can speak English, you can count..one box..two box...
You did the smart thing.
I work for one of these Fortune 500's as a contractor that made me jump through hoops. I am regretting it now. Nothing but a headache!

If that is standard policy for the company then you would need to take it to be seriously considered. Some companies require tests for the potential employees, and that includes both blue and white collar jobs.

To get a government job, a large number of positions require testing.

At the one place where I did have to take a test, I did well and they offered me the job. I didn't take it though.

Quite honestly, I don't see anything wrong with them giving you a test. Evidently everyone that works there had to take it & it had something to do with the job you were applying for.

I guess you didn't care if you got the job or not. Considering your poor attitude they were probably glad you ripped up the test & left.

You don't have any idea what a "hoop" is. I would love to see your employment record.

If I need a job bad enough would complete it and jump thru a flaming hoop... if not, would do the same as you did...

if you want a job, you put up with lots of bs in this world. thats life. back stabbing, butt kissing, office politics... it's reality. I don't like it either, but unless you are rich and dont need to work or you run the company, rules must be followed and bs put up with
