Depression/anxiety medication is to assist you in functioning not make you happy. Get happy by doing things that bring you pleasure not pills.

My anxiety medication works well. More importantly, the skill of recognizing an anxiety attack, and how to respond to it, is needed. I have one type of pill I take every day, and another I take in addition to that for when things are really bad.

Yes - I take Lexapro and feel better than I have in years. Used to take Zoloft but after a while felt like it wasn't working well and every month when I would ovulate I would feel really blue and sad. My dr. switched my meds and it has never been a problem since - and now I am sleeping well at night!! Been on the Lexapro about a year or year and a half.

I think even if you find one that works good for you...later on it might not and you have to find another one. If it never helped you from the beginning...then definitely try something else. But I think you need 2 different kinds of pills...one for depression and one for anxiety. You can have anxiety without being depressed and vice versa. Don't think they make a 2in1 pill yet.
