well i dont know what your income is or how much you want to spend, but for planning you should leave at least a year so you don't go nuts. there's a lot involved and you want to plan it carefully and calmly - not just get things b/c they are the only option available. I had 2 years and loved every minute - I got exactly what I wanted since I had so much time to think it over.

Well it depends on what kind of a wedding you have in mind. A small simple ceremony may only take several months to put together, while an elaborate wedding could take years. No matter what you choose having plenty of time makes the experience so much more enjoyable and lessens the stress load. As far as money is concerned you can still have a very nice wedding without spending a fortune. The trick is to start as early as possible( atleast one year in advance.) this way you can do a little at a time and pay for things gradually. A good place to start is by choosing the church and/or reception site where you want to be wed as they usually book up way in advance. Once you have a specific date decided on reserve it right away. To get a better idea on how much money you need to save begin calling caterers, DJs, florist, etc. in your area and shop around for the best prices. If I can advise one expense to spare it would be the bridal dress. I'm not saying that you shouldn't look and feel absolutely stunning on your big day, but just remember you will probably only wear it once. Planning a wedding can be fun and exciting. Strat pinching pennies now and plan for a date a year or two away. Congratulations and good luck!

It depends on your wedding. The bigger the wedding, the more you have to plan. The things that have to be done farthest in advance are reserving a location and booking a caterer. I didn't realize until I started looking up information that some venues have to be booked as much as 6 months to a year in advance! If you already know exactly what you want and you're attached to those ideas, it may take longer to make everything fall into place. If you're flexible with date, time of day, location, etc, you can probably take care of everything in 5 or 6 months.

it depends on how much u are spending on the wedding, and how much you can afford to save each month, so once you have an idea of those amounts you can work it out, as for the planning most places are usually booked a 12-18mths in advance, but again that all depends on where you want to have it and the time of year, the actual plannin can be done quite quickly (less than 6mths to prep everything, and ppl have planned weddings in wks) the hold up will most likely be getting the reception venue

Depends totally on big of a wedding you want to have. If you are having a meal reception with dj music you should probably plan for at the very least $35.00 per person. This would not include rental of a hall/facility. My daughter got married in 10/06 and hall - 3,000, food 30 per person, dj 350, minister 75, decorations/party favors 500, invitations 200, cake 400.

I have a friend that literally planned her wedding in a 3 day weekend. . . Then had just under a month for all the smaller details. Normally its anywhere from 6 months to about a year.

It depends on how many people that you would like to invite, where is the wedding going to take place, what kind of food you are going to serve, are you going to pay for the bridemaids' dresses, where are you going for honeymoon, etc. It also depends on how much you can save every month. The more expensive and elaborate the wedding is the longer you will need to save. Go to the church or temple where you want to have the ceremony and go to the reception place. Ask them how much it is going to cost you. Divide it by how much money you can save every month and there goes the length of time you need to plan and save for your wedding.

How elaborate is the wedding, how much money do you have, and how much are you going to spend? My husband and I got married within 4 months of our engagement in a simple ceremony; it takes some people 2-3 years to plan an elaborate and expensive wedding. It depends entirely on your plans, your budget and your finances.

Depends what kind of wedding you want. My husband and I eloped to Vegas so we needed next to nothing. Some dear friends of mine needed 4 months. Some other people I know took a full year.
