Nope. They are adorable and very active. They're not huge with a lot of matinence, and they don't make a big mess. I have three of them, so sometimes I wish they would just shut up, but I never regretted getting them. They're very sociable, and most of them can't talk...but you can teach them to make a variety of sounds from the theme song from The Andy Griffith Show to the sound of a telephone ringing.
It's always entertaining to watch my pair hang in odd positions and dance. Sometimes they do the funniest things. If I were to recommend a bird for someone new to owning birds, I'd definately recommend a Budgie.
Not only are they entertaining, but they color variations are beautiful. My favorites are the blue/white pied, the light blue/gray, and the teal budgies with yellow foreheads.

Never! I love my budgie!! Lulu is an angel and sooo cute!!! Budgies also just great pets! Although I did have a nippy one once that was never handtamed and who couldn't ever be touched, but I guess it wasn't her fault. She wasn't always like that. Until her mate died and she lived the rest of her life like that. Just hating everyone. She passed away a couple months ago and I feel happy that she been reunited with her mate. My new bird Lulu is very sweet though she prefers to be held only for short periods of time. If you bug her for too long she'll get nippy.

No way. I love my budgie! He is the smallest of all our birds and I still love the little guy! I've got sizes that range from him up to an Eclectus, with six birds in between.
I love the budgie chatter and they are so intelligent, can speak many many words and can be very very sweet.
Of all the birds I've kept, budgies are one of my favorites.

No, but sometimes it is a challenge. I've had my bird for a while now and he still isnt tame. I spend time with him every day and he isnt getting it. I will admit that taming my cockatiel was much easier than taming my budgie. I wish it was easier, I'll admit that .. But one day, he'll come around, and be the great pet that I know he is capable of being.

It's always regular to regret getting something at some point, including living, breathing pets. I, sadly, had to give away my two Cockatiels (my sister had two Budgies/Parakeets/etc and had to give them away for the same reason). It's human nature, basically.

a million. you are able to actual forestall fights from protecting your 2 budgies in separate cages. additionally, supervise your budgies whilst they're enjoying exterior of their cages. 2. Broccoli is amazingly nutritious for budgies and a great form of budgies relish ingesting this veggie. Clip a broccoli floret to the element of the cage or steam them and serve in a bowl. 3. Mineral blocks additionally grant calcium and may well be offered at maximum petstores. yet another large source of calcium is the egg shell from a tricky-boiled egg. eliminate the shell and weigh down it into tiny products to your budgies to eat. 4. that could desire to take very lots of time, persistence, and preparation. there continues to be no assure they are going to come to you once you call their names. 5. do in no way enable your budgies fly loose exterior. constantly save them caged exterior. loose-flying budgies can actual get away and you will maximum in all probability in no way see them lower back. additionally, predators can get to them and heavily injure or kill them. I notably propose clipping the wings because it retains budgies lots safer and much less in all probability to be injured. in case you do no longer clip them, you run the prospect of dropping them or seeing them injured. some people who do no longer clip budgies' wings have a definite room set up the place they could fly. domicile windows could desire to be coated and there could desire to be no different destructive factors for them in a flying room.
