7.25% = 0.0725
6.75 x 0.0725 = 0.49 (0.48575)
6.75 + 0.49 = 7.24 total

$6.75x7.25=489275 so, there is 2 decimal places to the right on $6.75 and 2 decimal placec to the right of the 7.25%--thats 4 decimal places so--starting at the far right of the total 489275 count 4 places to the left, put the decimal point there-thats 48.9- well 9 is more than 5 so change the whole number to the left of that decimal point to 49. and add .49 cents to your purchase price of $6.75 and you now have $7.24.
