Of course this depends on the type of question but in general would you like to have straight information and knowledge about your question or would you prefer someone share a personal experience as an answer to your question?

Which is more credible?

I like a bit of both
For a question regarding the word i truly love to see some scripture as a solid backing for your thoughts. If what I ask can also be further developed through a short experience it makes what you are sharing all the more tangible and " human" .
I do not mind the length of the answers as long as they are genuine and heart felt.

I consider both to be credible answers. Just in different ways.

Information is good. Someone may have a link to a website that I've never found. That's cool. But I can usually do the research on something myself.

I like to see personal experiences. That way I can see things from a different point of view. Personal answers give you a different way to learn things.

The most credible answer is one that you can verify for yourself (if you wanted to).

Information is only as good as the source and so it can range from flatly wrong to 100% correct. While experience is subjective it is all we have as an individual to decide if something is correct or not.

This means that someone else's experience may contain useful information or provide a guide but ultimately it is you that needs to have the same experience (or a different one) to verify or modify the 'truth'

I prefer information, though it depends on the question. I sometimes take personal experience into account.

Depends. When it comes to the how, I generally prefer information. When it comes to the why, I prefer personal experience.

It definitely depends on the type of question asked. Sometimes you need data and a citation. Other times, I prefer to hear a personal experience because it shows to me that this is more humanly possible.

That's why I love parables so much.

I like answers with both the facts and from someone who has been there....with that problem. Also web sites to back up their answer is very helpful. All the above makes a more credible answer in my estimation.

Information. Information is proof, it is truthful and is not subjective.

Personal experience is unreliable - people do not always purposely lie but it is our nature to occasionally be short sighted. What is good to some is bad to others, what is fun to some is boring to others, what is right to some is wrong to others.

Depends on the nature of the question.

Sandy, has answered similar to my preference.

I believe that all truth, has a root somewhere to be found, in a personal experience...however not all personal experience is indicative of truth.
