Where in the NT does it speak out against getting tattoos?
I believe the actual scripture is in the Original Testament and was part of the Kosher laws for the Israelites. I do not think it was ever meant for the Gentiles.
I am pretty certain it is not a Noahide law.

"Treat your body like a temple" I see many decorations and art in most churches.
Ok, so the Jews do not believe in graven images; I admit I do not know if there is art up in synagogues.

"Desecration of the flesh" sounds good. Where is that, please. Does it apply to the Gentiles?

Leviticus 19:28. There we go. Is that in the portion of the laws that only apply to Israelites or does that apply to Gentiles as well?

Actually it specifically says that the Kosher laws do NOT apply to non-Jews. Only the Noahide laws do. That was true BEFORE Jesus and the new testament.

There are many things in the law that Moses brought, the Mosaic law, that are forbidden: tattoos is one of them.
However, Jesus Christ brought a New Covenant, which for believers supercedes the Old Covenant, as taught by Moses. Many Christians wear tattoos. A tattoo showing a cross or the face of Jesus Christ is very popular.
Christians do many things a Jewish person would not do: eat ham, for example. It is not because Christians are laughing at the kosher laws as being silly; it is because Jesus Christ brought something new.
The Noahide group is a very small minority.

There is absolutely no reason to think that the mark of the beast will be a tattoo, and if it is, it wouldn't be any tattoo, but that symbol that is bad.
Tattoos traditionally were connected with groups outside the Jewish and christian faith, so of course for centuries they were shunned because they led you down those other roads. But in todays world, I think all those connections have been lost and tattoos can represent anything.
Another thing that makes me think tattoos are ok is that a big part of the New testament and Jesus teaching is moving the religion to an individual/philosophical religion rather than the communal law-driven religion it had become, so many rules simply for the sake of rules were thrown out.

If its barb wire or tribal around your bicep, then i believe it is a sin. (i'm sure its somewhere in the bible.) But other than that, no. "Treat your body like a temple" I interpet as do not deface your body. If you believe the tattoo is not of defacing value, then I think your good. Plus, as long as your a believer, Your good to go, no matter the tattoo.

You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord. Leviticus 19:28.
Another way to look at it from the New Testament ...
For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10.
Why would I want to deface the work of such a great artist?

1Co 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
1Co 3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
Peace be with you

The Bible says that your body is the temple of God, I think a christian in his correct mind would not paint graffiti on the temple of the lord that is a church a building and much less in the real temple of the Lord your body.

If you want to read a paper on this, go to Yahoo Groups, then following the Way and search for the mark.
Basically, I think the mark of the beast will be a tattoo.

Well, there is nothing specific about it in the Bible. However, some consider it "desecration of the flesh"
