potty training italian greyhaounds?

my dog is an italian greyhound, and she cant be left alone for over an hour without going in her cage. shes very person dependent, and doesnt like her cage, but cnat be trusted in just a gated area. What can i do??

I have known MAY IG's and only one of them managed to get housebroken!!! They are known for that!!!!!!

Yeah, good luck with that.... IGs are notorious for being nearly impossible to housebreak. I have heard from many owners that they had to resort to puppy pads permanantly. A lot of them are never ever housebroken.....
