its really expensive and i dont wont to waste all that money on something thats sucks

Of course the PS3 is worth the money. But like a few other people said, I recommend that you buy a PS3 during the Holiday season. And if you do decide to get a PS3 get the 60GB version, but if you wait too long you may not be able to find any of those because Sony is discontinuing that particular model.
Also, the 60GB PS3 is more compatible with PS1 and PS2 games than the 80GB version because the emotion engine was taken out of the 80GB PS3 to reduce production costs and to keep the price reasonable.
To me the PS3 isn't all that expensive because their are cell phones that sell for the same price as a PS3.
Again I recommend that you wait until at least November to get a PS3, because by then you will have more games to choose from.

It's worth it, it has a next generation disc format (blu ray) which can hold up to 50GB (and 100GB experimental discs) which allows game developers to make larger more advanced games. Other game systems (such as the xbox 360) use DVD-9 which can only hold 8.5GB.
The ps3 is also very powerful with high performance, and it is also very reliable with less than a 1% failure rate (around .2%)
In my opinion, the best time to buy would be around Christmas when big titles like Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and clank TOD, Uncharted Drakes Fortune, Haze, Unreal Tournament 3, Need For Speed Prostreet, etc. are released. Over 300 titles will be on the ps3 by next spring.

it's a fine machine, i have a 360 elite and a ps3. both are worth the money. but you might wanna wait until sony releases a couple more games. or buy a bunch of blu-ray discs, cause that's the only use you'll get out of it right now. but other than that, it's an awsome system.

No. The PS3 is really expensive. You're better off getting an Xbox 360.

It is NOT worth the money. I got one this past Christmas, all it does is collect dust in my intertainment center. Get a xbox 360, Halo 3 is coming out in less than a month. Probly the most antisipated video game EVER! XBox Live is Awesome, PS3's online is free becuz its boring and lame.
