My fiance and I also are into rock and metal and are having a difficult time trying to decide on reception songs.
We did agree on our first dance song though. Our song is Nothing Else Matters by Metallica and thought about using that one but didn't think it would work. We went a different route and I got this idea from weddingchannel.com. We are using "Dreamer" by Ozzy Osbourne as our first dance song. It is such a beautiful song and Ozzy does have a nice singing voice. Give it a listen.

There are some easier rock songs that can be incorporated into your reception. "I Found Forever" by Fighting Instinct is a good song, maybe for the cake cutting.

Good luck and I hope this helps you. I totally understand your dilemma. :)

first, i just want to thank you for the advice, it helped a lot.
anyway, about the songs for your wedding..
If you like Elvis at all, the song "I can't help falling in love with you" It's really a great song, its not so much rock or metal or Johnny Cash songs which arent really metal either but he has pretty good songs..
There's old rock, which i am into..
The Cars- Just what i needed
The Doors- Moonlight Drive, Indian Summer, You make me real, etc..
Led Zeppelin, The Cure (listen to the song Mint Car, by the Cure hope you enjoy it.)
The Beatles..
and the oldies that are fun to dance to, like songs from the 50's like malt shop songs.
I know i didnt help too much but i hope i gave you some ideas..
Thanks again for the advice earlier..

How about Pink.. the one that goes.. "get this party started"
For you first song though.. there has to be a song that makes you think about each other.. Do you remember what the first movie you saw together was? Check the soundtrack.. maybe theres something on there that would be appropriate.

Here are some sites that should help you pick some music.
One note, if you are using a DJ he will knwo what to play when. Of course they are always happy to take requests from you but you don't have to plan out the whole playlist.
Good luck!

I basically have been given married in June and we picked "infinite love" by using Mariah Carey and Luther Vandross. My husband loves previous motown (Luther) and that i admire extra modern-day hip/rock/pop (Mariah) i presumed it replaced right into an excellent selection. there are maximum of super oldies to play at your wedding ceremony. i admire disco, it kind of feels to be the superb selection for each age. anybody danced to the disco hits. I enjoyed: Boogie shoes, EWF, KC & the gentle Band, and so on. Any disco gets the group going. additionally sturdy slow songs to your first dance are: Atlantic megastar-continuously (oldie yet goody) Stand by using me-BB King ultimately-Etta James actual, i think of you should hear the words (ex type in wedding ceremony songs) and spot what fits you superb. desire this helps:) sturdy success with the making plans!
