Well for one your vet should have kept her over nite and released her tomorrow. It could be a stress thing causing the vomiting.
What happens is they go in and tie off arteries that pulsate and try to get the ties off that is why you need to keep her quiet and comfortable and STILL.
Make sure she only eats and drinks half of what she would normally get just so that she doesn't vomit anymore. If she continues then you need to make sure that every thing is picked up and offer her the same later. It's common for them to be pretty tired after a surgery I wouldn't worry about that part.
Good Luck!!

Vomiting is not a common post-op reaction, have you offered her food? If so how much? Dogs post anesthesia should only be offered a very small amount of food, like a couple TBS. Do not leave a huge bowl of H2O out either. If the vomiting continues take her to the emergency DVM, There can be many complications with spays, we always say there is no such thing as a routine spay. Make sure she gets her pain meds with her first small meal.
-Common reactions for post-op patients
Sleeping
Loss of Appetite
-Signs of pain
Panting
Pacing
Crying
-Things to watch out for
Vomiting / Diarrhea
Extreme lethargy
Pet appears pale in the upper gum line- requires immediate vet attention.

well my dog had the same symptoms . She threw up was withdrawn , spent the time sleeping . She would drink water and then threw up but it's normal because of the meds the vet gave to the dog . I wouldn't worry at this point just make sure that she has water . and she'll be back to normal within the next few days , she'll start eating maybe tomorrow in the evening or so .

A lot of dogs throw up after surgery. It's just a reaction to the anesthesia. My vet always keeps females for 24 hours before letting them go home for that reason. But once, when we had rescued an entire litter of pups, and it was time to get them fixed,we took them to a low cost vet,who sent them home the same day. All three of the girls threw up for most of the day!Just give your dog ice chips to lick, and she should be feeling a lot better tomorrow, when you should offer her something bland, like boiled chicken breast and rice.In a few days, she will act as if nothing ever happened to her!

If it happens more i would take her to the vet not the emergency vet just the vet and check up on her. It might not be from the spaying maybe just from her new surroundings?!

My gal did this as well.....she was getting the drugs out of her system. Make sure she has plenty of water available and if it continues, or you see other symptoms, call the vet right way.

Just keep their number handy. Spay isn't such a simple surgery and she may not be herself for a few days. Just keep her calm and avoid much exercise for a week or so.
Good luck!!
