If you don't have the money for a section, WHY did you breed your dog? She needs a vet. A "horrible odor" is a VERY serious problem!!!! So where's all the "SO what if I breed my dog! It's mine!" people now, with all their know it all answers? Understand I am not mad at you inparticular, but people who breed irresponsibly, and those who encourage it in general. Can you borrow money or sell something? I really think your dog is in serious danger.

ADDED: Could have had her spayed, but what's done is done. Right now I strongly suspect there is a dead puppy blocking your dog. It has to come out. Call your local animal control or shelter and see if they have an assistance program. Some will let you work off vet bills.

ADDED 2: Ok, has she pushed at all? Have you kept tabs on her temperature? What was the date she bred? Give me as much info as possible, even if it doesn't seem relevant. Breed, age, ever whelped before, breed of sire, all you can think of.

ADDED 3:
OMG!! Is this the SAME dog you asked about 6 months ago!?!?!?!

ADDED 4: Now I have NO sympathy left! This has been going on too long! Get a job. They are pets, NOT ATM machines! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AqiWPRjRbDPt_veGyH4sGMnty6IX?qid=20070129145205AAlAzYr

IF you dog was taken to the vet 3 1/2 hours ago and got a shot of oxytocin..Then how come now the vet is 4 hours away?? There is nothing good about a horrible odour.. Just sit there and watch her die?? You sound like a very immature kid.. sounds like something someone would say if they screwed up horribly and they expect other people to get them out of their problems all the time.. If you don't have the money for a c-section, then she should have been spayed when she got out and got pregnant..
Are you looking for people to send you money? What is it you are wanting?? If the vet is too far away and too expensive and everything else?? What is it anyone can do for you?? Tell you how to do a c-section?? You should spay your dog.. IF SHE LIVES..

It doesn't sound good. Is there any chance of calling the vet, explaining your situation and asking if you could pay the bill over time?

She really does need to be seen by someone ASAP. There is not much anyone will be able to tell you on the net that will help I'm affraid. Vet is the only answer.

I really do feel for you........good luck.

If the vets are 4 house away, where did you get the injection from? There is no way around this...Call the Vet!

if you can;t afford a c-section which it's pretty obvious she needs then the only other choice is to call a no kill shelter right away and surrender her. You will lose her and the pups either way, but at least this way she stands a chance of living as do the pups.

It really sounds like either one of those pups or all of them are spilling meconium because they are in trouble or one is already dead. You either make the money avaliable for the c-section, surrender her or let her die. I pray it won;t be the last option.

ADDED: Go to this site: http://www.carecredit.ca/practices/veterinary.htm You can sign up for the Canadian card here I can't find a phone number, but this should get you on your way. Sign up and go to the vet NOW!

Way to go Believer. Smart move to call the US number.

Here call these people right now.
CareCredit.
1-800-365-8295 These folks will give you a credit card if you qualify to have emergency care for your dog. You will know in minutes if your approved then get your girl back to the vets. She's in trouble.

Well your going to have to do something. You cant just let her die and not even try. You will have to get into your car and go to the vets. I know of no vet who in their right mind would get a oxytocin shot and not monitor the dog them self. This doesn't sound Right to me at all. If your vet has done this than he is open for a law suit.
You need to figure something out. Do it on the way to your vets.

This is so irresponsible of you or your family. Call them if you have to but your dog needs serious help now!

Ok Here's the number for CareCredit in Canada.
1-866-458-9961 Call them and get your girl some help!

What a piece of work you are. How you can just breed your dogs and then just think everything will be fine. I Had no problem finding the right number for Care Credit and neither did one other here. All you had to do was to ask when you called the first Care Credit number. That is if you even did.
I'm totally disgusted with your attitude about his. We've give you as much help as we can now it's up to you.

A bad odor is a bad sign...the puppies, if not already, will die and so will your dog. I'm having a hard time with this and can't give you any advice other than find an emergency clinic or call your vet at home! You will lose your dog and the puppies if you do not act quickly.

Well, you may very well end up with a c-section!!!! The vet should have given you CLEAR instructions about how long to wait after the oxy before you need to seek vet help. You need to cal, that vet back and see what you need to do. They do take emergency calls you know!!!!

Breeding can be VERY EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, it is your fault she was not spayed and you had her in the care of someone else!!! You need to get off your butt and get her some care!!!!!!!!!

If you were 4 hours away from the nearest vet, the vet would not have given a oxytocin shot and sent you on your way with no plan for after-care!!!!!!!!!!!

If that happened....SUE THE VET!!!!!

And no vet is going to give oxytocin to "induce" the dog. You give it if the dog WAS in labor but not to make it go into labor! No vet would do that and then send you 4 hours away from help!!!!

Good catch Jennifer T!!!! If you went through this 6 months ago, with this dog or another.....SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get off the freaking computer and get help and spay all animals you own!!! You are clearly irresponsible!!!!!!!

i wish i was there id take the dog to the vets and pay for her ,it sounds like pups may be dead if theres a bad smell ,please don't let her die go and ask your family for the money ,at the end of the day ,the dog is your responsibility its not your friends fault she got pregnant ,you should know when your dog is due to come into season !! ,you Carnot just sit there and do nothing ,would you like to be left to die in labour with a dead baby in side you ,sorry if i have offended any1 with that statement ,I'm so upset for this poor dog ,you are a stupid person for letting this happen

People are harping on you because that pup is your responsibility. You should have had her fixed, it is not the fault of the people who were watching here. THey probably didn't even know she was in season! I have to agree with everyone out there that is yelling at you!

What the heck were you thinking! You need to find that money and do it while you're on youre way to the vets office! Or bring her to the animal shelter, where you will have to syrrender her to get her help, but honestly, I believe thats whats best for her. SHe need medical attention! I don't care how broke you are, you would be able to find money to get your kid help or your family if they needed.

You can find the money to get this dog help ASAP!!!

Why do you think your dog needs induced?
Was she already in labor? Was she actively pushing for a very long time with no puppies? Why?

Are you sure she is pregnant and this is not a pyometra?

Why not just let her go into labor on her own? And what makes you think she needs a section?

Large dogs do well in whelping. Sections are a RARE thing in large breeds. You might just be overreacting and upset about something that time will fix by itself. Even if she is in labor and you see slow progress, it's ok. The only emergency is if the dog is actively pushing for more than a couple of hours with no puppy. That means one might be stuck. I have seen my vet leave a dog pushing for 3 hours before doing a section to see if a pup can pass.

If yours is a LARGE dog, she is probably ok. Be more detailed in exactly what is happening and see if someone can help you. Ok?
