My 2 month old daughter has been sick for the past 3 days. She's got a runny nose, raspy breathing and cough, and isn't eatting or sleeping and has vomited a couple of times. She's extremely whiney. I have no clue what's wrong with her so any advice would be great!

We have a doctors appointment tomorrow already set up but I was wondering if I should take her in sooner.

She most likely has a cold. Call her doctor. My son's doctor told me to give Pedialyte because it aids in brain development when they cannot have breastmilk or formula. Also the little Vapor plugs by Vicks ca nbe plugged in next to her bassinet or crib. They are safe for all ages. My son was almost 3 months early and I used these when he was 2 months old.

A one month old baby should never be given honey. Honey can cause serious illness in babies. They shouldn't have that until they are 2 years old. You need a better doctor than this - get a second opinion! At one month of age, a baby's digestive tract has not developed far enough to digest regular foods and you should not be doing anything but breastfeeding and alternating infant Motrin drops and Tylenol drops. Rooibos tea is effective and safe when given in a bottle with warm breastmilk or formula. However, no no on the honey - it is very rare for a baby to get the flu at this age. There may be allergies or a different issue you're dealing with - I think you need a more thorough and concerned pediatrician who will consider things more carefully. No doctor I know would ever recommend tea sweetened with honey. You definitely don't want to give them tea that has caffiene in it because their heart is not ready to handle the effects of caffiene yet.

Take that precious baby to the doctor! If she just had shots, it could be that, but she could also have a virus or an infection. Your pediatrician is the best suited person to make that call. Babies can develop a serious illness called R.S.V., and it has the symptoms you describe. If it is just something simple, then you will go home happy and relieved. If it is something more serious, then you will be happy you took care of it. Now that you have added that you are going to the doctor tomorrow, I would say, yes, take the baby in tonight. Be on the safe side.

I'd get your lil one to a doctor. You mentioned raspy breathing and anything that effects the airways of a child should get attention. It could be a simple cold, but there is also a virus called RSV with similiar signs that can be serious. Not trying to scare you, but I rarely tell people to go NOW; I would if I were you. We transfer several toddlers a year to ped ICU units for this. Let us know what you gind out, because I will be worried until you go and prove me wrong. sounds like an upper respiratory infection, the drainage could be what's making her throw up. Try to push fluids to help thin out the mucus, and get her to the doctor tomorrow - if she has a sinus infection or something worse she won't get better without the proper meds.

I would take her to the doctor, since she is vomiting , she probably is dehydrated,I have 5 children, since she is so young take her to the emergency room asap. I am not trying to upset u but I really think she needs to be seen, since she is only 2 months old. She will be ok!! Just take her to the ER, and they will be able to evaluate her situation and take care of her and let u know what to do and what else to watch for. But please take her in immediately. how . Please let us know how she is. Thank you, God Bless u and your daughter!!!
