I like the cd's too as long as the couple doesnt fill it with sappy loves songs. their wedding song and the father/daighter dance song is nice, then after fill it with songs the couple likes so there is a variety of music. I think those are cute. the edible ones are pretty good too becuase almost everyone will take theirs home. when I dont like is the little collectable things that have no use. its not so much I dont like them, but more so I feel bad the couple wasted money on it becuase its either going to sit in a drawer or be tossed out. what I find really cheesy is something the couple goes all out to have engraved. I dont want something sitting around my home with their name and everything on it, especially when they could have printed a tag on the computer for less then half the price.
oh...I almost forgot...the greatest favour I ever heard of was at a wedding of a girl I used to work with (she was married b4 she started working with me so I didnt go to the wedding but she brought me a left over favour) her uncle makes homemade wine coolers and so she gave out bottles of it for her favours (big bottles too....like the size of a wine bottle) and the labels she made herself with their names and date on her. her uncle did it for free as a wedding gift and it was so good and a huge hit! too bad it wasnt so easy for everyone to do something like that...and that along with beer was the alcohol she served too so nobody had to open their bottles until they got home.

i think you should be careful with dvd and cd favors. a) your taste isnt nessicarily the taste of your guest b) there are copyright laws out there that are startin to put a block on them.
I also, personally, have a thing against picture favors. I'm sorry... just because i love you enough to come to your wedding, doesnt mean i want a picture of you. Same goes with monogramed and personally engraved items. I dont need things with your name in my house. I have a tendency to throw these away!
candles are univeral, nothing too fragrent. Edible favors are ALWAYS a hit. For smaller weddings, more customized favors are always fun. Wine stoppers, coffee scoops, bud vases, there are thousands of ideas out there.
Hope i was helpful

I think my favorite is something edible. While it might be charming in the beginning and you might even leave it out if you are close to the couple, after a while the favors collect dust in a bottom drawer or trash can. I've noticed that some people don't even take theirs from the table. Candy or cookies are never left.
My least favorite for that reason - something engraved with the couples' names on it.

I like placing a professional card at each setting with the couples picture and the schedule of the reception and the names of the caterer, photographer, planner, dj and etc.
I find that people really like knowing when the cake cutting and first dance are going to be and who did them on the reverse side.
It makes a perfect scrapbook item if done right with class.

The best ones are food favours like hershey kisses. Anything that can be used is good like candles too. I've seen some really interesting ones that are pretty but I'm not a favour collecting type like my sister.

I went to a wedding where they had personalised rock candy. It was so cute and yummy. It was just a flavour they loved with "name" then a cute heart then "name". Really beautiful and the guests appreciated not getting a token they would have to keep in a cupboard or feel bad using like bubbles or candles. They made for really memorable gifts.

My favorite was these chocolate covered strawberries that were dipped to look like a bride and groom. Google Shari's Berries for a quick look. They're so cute!

I like the ones you can eat. Then you don't have a piece of junk just lying around the house. Though, I think we might do matches, 'cause they're cheap and everyone uses them.

I like the little bells that you ring to get them to kiss are pretty cool. I really like any favors that are creative and different and had some thought put into them they are the best kind of favors to have.
