Eggs are very healthy! They contain significant amounts of 13 different nutrients including vitamin A, riboflavin, folic acid, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, choline, iron, calcium, phosphorus and potassium as well as 7 grams of protein per egg.
About 60% of the calories in an egg come from fat about 10 grams of fat. Most of that fat is unsaturated fat. The egg white is water (87%), protein (13%), and little, if any, fat.
Eggs from range feed chickens are very high in Omega 3's fatty acids (good fat): as much as four times as many omega-3 fatty acids, twice as much vitamin E, half the cholestrol and between two and six times as much beta carotene. Make sure you are getting farm fresh range feed chickens, and not chickens that were feed flax seed to increase the omega-3's in their eggs.
Recent studies also suggest that total cholestrol isn't even important as long as your HDL or good cholestrol is double your LDL or bad cholestrol, and I just read that some studies are saying that the human body doesn't even absorb that much fat from eggs.
The Moral to the story... eat eggs!

Eggs are basically good for you. They're one of nature's most complete foods. All these years we've been told not to eat too many eggs because the yolk has cholesterol in it. As long as you take that into account and include it as part of your daily fat and cholesterol intake, eggs are fine to eat. Lots of other foods have cholesterol, including meat and milk.
Eggs have lots of nutrients in them such as protein, folate and vitamin A. Check out enc-online.org for more information and a complete listing of what's in an egg.

Eggs are good for you. They are loaded with protein and vitamins.
However some time ago they decided that the yolks contained too much cholesterol. But since then it has been determined that the human body does not absorb cholesterol from food. So eggs have the all clear again.

egg whites are great.
1 white = 17 calories, no fat, 4 grams protein & no cholesterol
1 yolk = 61 calories & 5 grams of fat, 72% of your cholesterol for the day! and only 3 grams protein
You can have 3 1/2 whites & it'll equal the amount of calories in 1 yolk. Plus you're getting all the calories from protein & none from fat.

Eggs are one of the most nutrient dense foods in the world. And they DO NOT raise your cholesterol. I eat eggs all the time for breakfast and my cholesterol levels are normal. Just make sure you don't eat too many at once-- limit yourself to one or two once a day. And don't consume them on a daily basis as you may build up an allergy against them.
What gives you high cholesterol you may ask? Unhealthy foods like Mc Donalds, heavily processed foods like cookies and cakes, high fat processed meats like hot dogs, etc. Trans fats are your enemy. Beware of this man-made concoction and you will be better-off. Add healthy fats into your diet, like pure extra virgin olive oil, nuts, avocados, and fatty fish like salmon, and limit butter, margarine, heavy cream, etc. And eat lots of fruits and vegetables. If you want to learn more about how nutritious eggs are, go to www.mercola.com and search up his articles about the health benefits of eating eggs. He actually recommends to consume them raw...but I don't find that very palatable and I'm sure you don't either.

Eggs are BAD FOR YOU!!!! They are quite literally the menstrual period of a chicken and are not essential for a healthy life. Why do you feel guilty? Because eggs are naturally supposed to grow into chicks. Eggs are meant to hold a living entity with a tiny beating heart and tiny little body organs developing. Look at peta.com. It is a very informative website.

Eggs are bad for you. they have some proteins, but the cholesterol in the yolk offsets any beneficial effects of the proteins and vitamins they contain.
Eggs occasionally- OK.
yolk free egg substitutes- better.

It is the yolk (read fat) that is the culprit. However, four eggs per week is just fine to eat.

Too much of anything is bad for you, but a few eggs a month should be fine, as long as you're not dining with some stoned PETA-head.
