In spite of regular work-outs and high protein diet (usually), I am having hard time putting on muscles. Is it mostly genetic?

Or is religious timed protein ingestion necessary?

(I know when it comes to building muscles, over-training is worse than under-training.)

If you're old is hard. However, take some stuff with juice during the training like:Mus-L Blast, power creatine and Muscle weight gainer. Those powders are awesome and work a lot.Be easy with creatine, since make you crazy for water.

Make sure to do the routine slowly and rigidly and too the T. Also protein ingestion should be within the hour after you workout and make sure the portion is roughly the size of your hand spread from thumb to middle finger tip. Make sure to only use the muscles that are supposed to b used do NOT jerk it up even if it is your last rep and then if you feel that you are gonna have to make sure that you go down a weight or two and always if you are not the genetically privileged for muscle-building then make sure to work out to muscle failure and have a spotter with you at all times. You can work out til failure and not have overworked do supersets. supersets are sets which work like this:
1. First set use highest weight you can and do low rep about 8 should do.
2. 2nd set starts with no break and move down about 5-7 lbs and go about 8 reps
3. go down until it feels fairly light and go until failure which is the point where you can go no farther.
tip: do not do this every workout do it once a week. Also do it for each bodypart and not all on the same excersize-program day. seriously after these the right portion of protein is a must.
