now, which is the best order for a walking/running combination for burning fat?



first walking for 2 km's.
then running for 6
and walking for another 2


or

first running for 6
then walking for 4...

or

first walking for 4
and then running for 6

Depends on your level of fitness and what you are capable of doing comfortably. In fact, each of the choices have good points.

If you are less well trained, I'd start with alternating 2K Walk/runs. Then your option A. If you are already well-trained, the I'd opt for the last option.

REASON: You'd have a great warmup and be completely loose for the 6K run at the end - PLUS, the body doesn't start to burn fat for primary fuel until about 30 minutes of aerobic exercise, so about the time you start running about when you'll start burning fat provided you run at conversational pace.

Your total calories used will be the same regardless of how you complete the distance. Just jog until you need to walk and then walk until you feel like jogging again. It doesn't make any difference as to how you finish the distance as long as you do it.
