We have finished the efmp screenings and are cleared. According to the Milpo info we are command sponsored. My husband was just able to request family travel today. Also, the waiting list for housing is less than thirty days which I've heard is good for the time to process the orders. How long does it approximately take to process the travel orders at this point when I have nothing left to do but wait? Also, this is the last thing I need to move my passports are sitting in the office waiting for the orders, the housing director is just waiting for my orders to give us a home, our stuff is shipped and our UB shipment is there. I have nothing left to do but wait so how long does it take at this point??

the only thing I could see you waiting for if for housing. We had command sponsorship also but we had to wait to go to Germany until Housing came available. Once you get housing, you should get your tickets pretty quick. We got our tickets in 5 days once we had housing. We waited a few days longer cause I needed seats for 4 people. but yeah I would think as soon as housing becomes available you should get your orders and tickets. They can even overnight the tickets to you, email them or I have heard someone say they got their tickets in 2 days. You pretty much choose the day you want to fly. That is good.

Where are you going to be stationed in Germany? Some tips once you get there:
- go out and explore Germany. Don't just stay at home. There is alot to do and you can do it cheaply.
- you can go camping to save money. You can stay at Hostels to save money. You can stay at campsites (they do have bungalows and cabins for cheap stays)
-If you are thinking of flying, check out this site:
http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/ they will post tickets for a penny (you do have to pay additional taxes though, but so worth it. We did this a few times while we were there).
- You have to buy this book. It is called "Never A Dull Moment". This book was a life saver while we were there. It will list villages, and what you can do there. It list restaurants, shopping, museums, hotels, castles, rivers, etc., and how much it will be, when they are open, directions and reviews. It is so worth it. http://www.awag.us/book.htm
-Here are some yahoo groups that deal with being in Germany and being military:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MilitaryWivesInGermany/
http://groups.yahoo.com/search?query=military+wives+Germany

Have fun and travel, you will be glad you did. If you have a big van or car becareful, some of the village streets are small. And try to learn the basic german, this will help you in the long run.

Take care. We would go back tomorrow if we could.

I do not have an answer to your question, but I just had to let you know that you are lucky! My husband and I were to be stationed in Germany and we did all that you did(which never seems to end) and got all packed and CS approved to find out that they did not have room for either him or myself and the waiting list was so long due to the closing of bases all over Germany and the base we were to be going to got the majority of these soldiers and their families. So now I am staying in the US for two years and my husband got sent to Iraq. Not exactly as planned. Wishing you luck and enjoy your time and experiences!!!
