People who promise to pay you back money they borrowed from you at a specific time, & then the time comes, & you remind them about it, & then they say again that they're gonna do it, & then say, "Oops! I forgot. Remind me tomorrow at noon." That time comes, & then they get annoyed & threaten to report you for harrassment to the police or threaten to kick your @$$. People do that to me all the time, & it hurts. It just happened to me.

The next time someone asks you for a loan just point them to the nearest bank where they can get whatever they need and I'm sure the bank won't have a hard time collecting the payments exactly when they're due (if not sooner).

They know you are a soft tough and they can do this to you and get away with it. Stop lending money. If a friend needs money and you have it to give then give it but don't lend money. Best way to lose a friend. The one thing I always told my kids, first was not to fight, but if in a fight don't worry about winning the fight but be sure to get in one punch that the other guy will not soon forget. He will think twice before he picks on you again. Don't back down with the threats. It was a loan you have a right to expect the return when promised.

Yeah, you need to be really careful with lending AND borrowing money. Its happened to me a couple times where I let people borrow money and they always forget to pay me back, but luckily it was only a couple of dollars so I let it go. When they threaten to call the police, tell them that you'd call the police for them, because they are the ones that need to pay you back. Also you are wrong as well...just stop lending money. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

I am so sorry that has happened to you. One of the hardest lessons I have learned is to never loan money out if you can't afford to lose it. I have lost really good friends over it. I am so sorry you have been threatened like that. You should probably think twice about loaning out money in the future.

That is awful. Maybe you should stop lending money. I know you want to help out, but it's hurting your relationships instead of helping them. Next time someone asks say you don't have the money.

I just quit a nanny job because the parents have not paid me. They are a month and a half behind. It is VERY irritating, especially when you are depending on that money to pay your bills, rent, school clothes for your kids. Some people are just ignorant.

If it keeps happening to you, you are just too nice. Just tell the next person who asks that you are broke and can't right now.
You should only really loan money to people you know and trust.

Robert DeNiro's character in Mean Streets owed everyone in town.
SPOILERS: he was like that only you couldn't escape from the people he owed money to and they killed him.
Soooo anyway, go to small claim's court and file a claim. Also DO NOT lend people money. They are terrible.

Oh ya, that's very annoying. It let's you know who you can trust and not trust in loaning money. I've only had it happen to me once, but I finally got it back. Our husbands worked together, so I had my husband ask hers for the money.

Don't lend people money. Sometimes they actually mean to say give instead of lend. Big difference!
