take a break for three days so that your muscles have time to recover. When you start back cut your time in half and increase it gradually.

Take a hot bath with 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts. Soak for 30 minutes. The Epsom salts will help eliminate the lactic acid that forms on the muscles from over exertion.

Massage an analgesic cream into the sore muscles.

Dehydration can cause severe pain in the muscles. I recommend you drink purified water mixed with Mineral Water 50/50. This will replace the minerals that are exiting your body continuously. You must drink beyond your thirst to get the benefits of hydration and the real key is the Mineral Water.

I suggest that adults and children drink 40 ounces of water per 100 pounds of body weight every day. Realize that exercise, ambient temperature, and state of health affect the water needs of your body. One tip for athletes: it is healthier to drink a sports drink or water than fruit juice, soda, coffee, or milk during competition or active training periods.

500mg of calcium and magnesium, taken twice daily, can help with diminishing the pain.

Advil liqui capsules work very quickly on pain. Take them four times daily.

Go easy on the skating for a few days- I'm not saying don't, but keep to some of the simpler stuff. Don't stop flat out- your muscles will hurt worse when you start up again.
High impact sports like skating are hard on your feet, knees, ankles ect- make sure you're wearing the right shoes and when you land, make sure you're not tightening up- that's going to permanently damage your joints (and believe me, that sucks.)
Also, no matter how lame it sounds, consider stretching- stand on the stairs with just your toes on the edge of a step and let your heels sink down to stretch out the backs of your legs. Point your feet or and roll slowly over your toes to the top of your foot against the floor until you feel some resistance in your legs. Runners stretches and looking up stretches that concentrate on muscles that hurt especially will not only help your legs stop hurting, but will help strengthen them for the future.
Consider things like starting out slow when you skate, and give yourself some time moving to "cool out" before plopping on the couch and letting your muscles get stiff. Be careful with pain meds- trading off generic stuff like ibuprofen and acetomenphen (tylenol) every couple days will keep the pills from damaging your stomach but don't take them when you don't have too.

Hi, The soreness and ache is lactic acid (I consider I spelled it proper?) The satisfactory strategy to eliminate it's to stroll round for a couple of mins, after which calm down and stretch it out. I additionally uncover in case you therapeutic massage the sore locations, it is helping immensely. Good good fortune!
