you sound like you are the same age as my oldest son.
Do what your father says, give up the cell phone, you don't need it. OR just quit texting.... it's a phone, take the call and get off. I did'nt even have a pager in my day.

Guess what? you will probably never see your high school freinds again after college.
Concentrate on school, grades, and hobbies / jobs that will advance the career you want.
Be nice to everyone on your way up, you will see them again if you have to come down.

Give it a week or so without complaining about the cell. Do the yard work with a good attitude. By the time school starts you'll probably have your cell back, even sooner if you play it smart! Dad was frustrated (mad) and took something that is distracting to you when he wants your attention, which he didn't get because you messed up the siding pretty good! LOL! Understand his position and you'll be texting in no time.

look at this situation as an introduction to how things will be when you're an adult. if you make a mistake or ruin property, you will be expected to pay for or fix it. if you run up a bill that you can't pay (or in this case, you father doesn't want to pay), you have to give up that item.

apologize, do the yard work, and take extra care the next to you do a project. mistakes happen and it will be fine, but right now you're at a disadvantage with your dad. time to work hard to earn his trust.

as for the phone, my theory has always been if you're not old enough to get a job and pay the bill yourself, then you shouldn't have one. if he's paying the bill, he calls the shots. period. once you turn 14, you can get a part time job with his permission and then you could afford a phone on your own. i think you'll still need his permission to buy the phone anyway.

as far as making plans, use a house phone or see your buddies in school.

That's unfortunate for you. It was an accident,it sounds like he is being really hard on you. You don't need a cell phone to live though. Have them call the house phone real quick. Just when you plan to hang out and what not be very specific and organized. You will make it without a cell phone.

As far as your dad cutting it off, there's not much you can do there because its under his name. My dad did that to me once because he got mad at me but my mom reconnected it under her name. Yay! Find out if someone else in your family will connect a line for you, but you would have to pay for it and I don't know if your working or not.

best wishes

Siding is cheap and easy to install, it's the paint that you need to be concerned about. All in all, the siding will be cheaper than the paint. Look at a do-it-yourself website for siding. Surprise your father by repairing the house or suggesting that you help him if you don't understand the full concept. This might get some respect from your father and the salvation of your cell phone.

Did he teach you how to properly break down the wall, or did he just hand you a sledge hammer and turn you loose on the planet? If you damaged something without proper training your dad bears some of the responsibility for it too. (He probably realizes that and will calm down in time, but right now he's still fuming over the way things have played out). Just give him some time to put things into perspective.
