Best Buy can not use the SS system to discover your work history.

The SS system itself can barely catch up with your work history and they run around 3 to 9 months behind. PLUS, the information in it is protected by law, so Best Buy can't get ahold of it.

As to why you want to change jobs so soon -- tell the truth. BB is a relatively good place to work [or so my granddaughter's friends say] and they have lots of experience with people coming there who wanted something better.

If they run your credit, as many employers do nowadays, they may see an employer listed but this information is rarely up to date and correct. As for telling them you are working at DQ, it seems it is always easier to get a job when you already have one so I would say that you should tell them. They should respect your desire to secure a better position. As for rate of pay they are probably in the 8-9 per hour range depending on the position. Some as low as 7.

What I would do is to put it on your application because if you do not and they do find out after you were hired they can fire you for lying on the application. It is a proven fact that people who have a job when looking for another job are more likely to get the position than someone who was fired and looking.

Hope this helps
