I am trying to lose weight, and I am allergic to many foods. What can I eat a lot of as a snack that wont affect my weight too much? I already snack on pretzels and carrots.

Low calorie dense foods are always the best to munch on if you're trying to lose weight. Low calorie dense foods make you feel full using less calories. A great example is celery which has so little caloric content that it takes more calories to digest it than the calories it provides you with. A lot of other great foods are ones which contain water. Such as grapes; a cup of grapes provides you with about 60 calories while in its dehydrated form (raisins) provide over 400 calories. You should eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. Berries are a very good idea. They are one of the best fruits you can eat. They are low in calories and also the one of the lowest in sugar and also provide you with many other benefits; they are packed with antioxidants. I would say to just mix up the fruits and vegetables you eat everyday so you don't get bored. Yogurt is also good get the low fat/low sugar kind. 3 servings of low fat milk/milk products help you lose weight. I'd also advise you to stay away from artificial snack bars. Like special k bars even tho they say they help lose weight. If you read those ingredients there is a lot of junk in them; a lot of added sugar. And you really don't need that. Stick with the natural foods. For the rest of your diet, I'd advise you to stick to whole grain/whole wheat breads, cereals, and pastas. They have plenty of fiber and make you full longer. Bleached grains really have no benefit for you besides providing you with "empty carbs". Potatoes are also a good form of carbs they have tons of vitamins; an alternative to your usual bread/cereal/pasta carb source. (great for pre-race meal if you were a runner). As for fats, we all need them in our diet, but the best source would be from unsaturated fats. Try olive oil, nuts, almonds are great for your health!, avocados are great. Make sure you go for lean meats and stay away from fried foods. Roasted and grilled chicken is always good. Also for other protein sources nuts and beans garbanzo beans are great here! Best idea is to combine all this and make a nice lunch salad. Lettuce, tomato, garbanzo beans, walnuts or almonds, peaches or plums, maybe a lil cheese (but no creamy dressings! vinaigrettes are always good) nd you have yourself a delicious low calorie meal/snack!

Look at healthy snacking in my blog.

It is my lifestyle now. I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs/14kg and gained better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs/49kg for more than a year, with more fruits and complex carbs.

Details such as my experience, meals, snacks, recipes, foods to buy, reading labels, walking as an exercise and to shape the body etc etc,

Pretzels aren't healthy. Snack on fruits and other veggies. Yogurt is good, too.
