Christians, would Jesus REALly aprove of you having a computer and internet?

And don't say "i send money to charities over the net" cause it's bs, and don't say "i work for a charity". Idealy you should sell your possesions and give the money to the poor and needy as jesus said than you will be in the kingdom of heaven, yet you will argue and convince yourself that you are already going to heaven.

I don't think we are expected to sell all our posessions. I would sell all though if I knew for sure that this is what God wanted. Jesus uses the internet too. I just lead 2 people to Jesus on the R&S.

Well, we could really look deep into THAT question cant we?
Owning a computer and using the internet is not an "unchristian" thing. Its how you choose to use this tool that could be considered to be "unchristian."
Just because Bill Gates invented it does that make him a bad person. People that use the computer and internet are not bad people. There is a lot of very useful information via websites that give us information that can better us as people and strengthen the human race. Its all in how you use it!

No worries. I'm sure Jesus approves of my using the computer to defend Him and Christianity. I don't use the computer to send money to charity though. I prefer giving it directly to our church (we have a Benevolence program that the money goes to) and via payroll deduction to United Way.
