It is indeed difficult to cope with. I find myself to be religious, a firm believer in Yeshua (Jesus) and Adonai (God). However...for long periods of time, I have stopped going to church, and my faith falters, due to some of the questioning...

Unless you are part of some funky religion for gays, I think most religions are agianst homosexulaity.

Im a christian - if someone is homosexual then they cannot call themselves a christian., To be a christian you need to follow Gods will - being homosexual isnt one of them.

Believing in God and following God are two different things.

Any christian church that embraces homsexulaity should be shut down - jokers

Abuse - how can use this word

During slavery - that was abuse the people had no choice but to follow and surrender to idiots.

The Old Testament says in Leviticus 20 that man shall not not lie with man as with a woman. HOWEVER it also says that a man should not be near a woman 7 days before or 7 days after menstruation. Do the gay-bashers include that in their frame of reference? We can't pick and choose. It's taken half an hour with different bibles to find what I was looking for to quote. I quite honestly can't be a***d starting again to find where the bible says something about loving the sinner, hating the sin. I know it's in there though!!! If anyone wants to ask where that is in the bible, I WILL find it! I know many Christians, male and female who know that they are homosexual but choose not to 'practise' their sexuality because it goes against God's teachings. I also know very many more and let's be honest, that probably includes 80%+ of you (including myself) who also go against God's word by having intercourse outwith marriage or most certainly not for 14 days either side of menstruation!

I'm neither homosexual nor religious. But...

I think gay people have it pretty rough in terms of religion. If they're religious (and the religion they subscribe to oppose it):

- they deny themselves
- something they cherish (religion) is against their nature
- people of that religion oppose them

The second one must hurt, alot, I think. And people like the Phelps family in America ... don't get me started with their intolerance.

Personally, I think homosexuality has an underlying physiology in brain anatomy. They can't help it, and so there is no need to be mean to them. God really messed up when "making them" and now he shifts the blame ... uh huh ¬_¬

I agree with you. I remember just before I got married I went to my mom's church with her. We were told that we "had to" sign a petition against gay marriage. We left and she never went back to that church. That was my last straw with Christianity. I was already upset and my beliefs did not match, but this was the paint where I really began to explore other religions.

I feel sorry for homosexuals---they have a very big cross to bear. It is not alright to practice homosexual acts and still think you are sinless though, the same as one should not practice gluttony or any other sin but the propensity to do those acts does not make that person any less of a person. We are all very sinful and fall way short of the mark.

"What! Do you not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom."

At 1 Corinthians 6:9, 10 it mentions 'men who lie with men' along with fornication, adultery, theft, idolatry, etc.

Then at 1 Timothy 1:8-10 it says: "Now we know that the Law is fine provided one handles it lawfully in the knowledge of this fact, that law is promulgated, not for a righteous man, but for persons lawless and unruly, ungodly and sinners, lacking loving-kindness, and profane, murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, manslayers, fornicators, men who lie with males, kidnappers, liars, false swearers, and whatever other thing is in opposition to the healthful teaching."

Here, 'men who lie with males' is so serious that it is mentioned along with murder and manslaying. I appreciate that if someone wants to please God but is homosexual this will prove difficult, but I don't think it is impossible. The scripture above at 1 Corinthians 6 goes on to say at verse 11: "And yet that is what some of you were."

It would also be wrong to assume that homosexuals have it difficult and the rest of us have it easy. We all have sinful tendancies to contend with. The Bible condems fornication and adultery which means no hetrosexual Christian can engage in any kind of sexual conduct before or outside of marriage. This can be especially difficult when the godless world around us has an extremely permissive attitude towards sex.

i'm LDS and it upsets me a great deal when all this hate is poured onto gay people, where do these high and mighty morons get off on bad-mouthing gay people ?.they have the nerve to say they're jesus loving people !.
one of my dearest and closest friends is gay,he's like a brother to me and if someone picks a fight with him they pick a fight with me.Where is jesus if not with the maligned and abused and disrespected ?.some of these pig ignorant hate mongers need to read the gospels a bit closer.
my own church has said hurtful things and that has upset me,everyone is entitle to their opinion but laying into gays like some do is just not on.i am very, very glad that a lot of churches have stopped using such confrontational language.
jesus told us to love our neighbour.end of story.that doesn't mean you can get away with comparing him to a rapist or a child abuser if he is different to you.
these hate mongers DISGUST me,haven't they anything better to do with their time ?.gays are human beings with feelings and dignity, guess what - god made them too.

Pangel, as you can see, folks are not quite ready to give up their norrowmindedness about Gays. I have MANY friends who are gay and lesbian and if it comes to a choice between spending eternity with just ONE of these Bibleans and spending eternity with ALL of my gay-lesbian friends, THEY win hands down. At least I know that I can trust them with anyting that I own, even my own life. I wouldn't trust one of these Bibleans with a peice of chewed bubblegum.

to me this question sound like as if .. sugar and salt can be put in a cup a tea at the same time.. you cant.. it tastes bad.

who ever say that they are religious and are gay and lesian are lying to themselves..uptil now.. my personal research.. there is no religion which allows homosexuality or is acceptable in their faith. (enlighten me if ther is any).

if you cant adhere to the teachings of a faith then dont follow the religion.. become a ..non religious gay or lesbian.. why do you have to change the faith so that it suits your need. which i think this is really selfish of people.

this is like you are preparing for a chemistry test and you go into physics test and say to the examiner that i want to give THE chemistry test.. how confusing is that .. get my point..

women, to me, is heaven personified.
