unless you have a VERY good reason to have surgery. Stick to a proper diet and exercise program.

1) Keep it simple first

here's an article on sensible ways to lose weight

2) Eat steam food, vegetables, fruits

3) drink plenty of water and green tea

4) Avoid junk food, snacks and soda drinks

5) have 5-6 healthy meals a day (1 plate size only) to keep the tummy satisfied

6) exercise , combine strength and cardio using turbulence training, http://www.squidoo.com/turbulencetrainingreviews/

I wouldn't have the gastric bypass surgery because it is extremely invasive and it changes the way your body handles food forever. You will be on a special diet because of that surgery forever. Its risks are greater than for most other elective surgeries. (See webMD article listed below) There are other surgeries that aren't as drastic, but even then I would question myself about whether I'd been serious enough about my diet and exercise habits first. i wouldn't ------- but they have the new one where they "tie off your stomach to make it smaller -- then they remove the tie thing -- and your stomach will have shrank
I know someone who got really thin with gastric bypass surgery but her legs are so gross looking and she just looks really weird. .. saggy skin too
Do a LOT OF research
Maybe diet and exercise although the most work is the best way to go

MY STEPMOM HAD IT DONE AND IS 1 YEAR OUT AND DOING GREAT. SHE STILL CAN'T EAT A WHOLE MEAL BUT THATS ABOUT IT. NEVER GOT SICK OR ANYTHING. THERE ARE ALWAYS RISKS. SHE FOLLOWS HER PLAN TO THE T SO SHE WILL NOT SLIP BACK TO WHERE SHE WAS BEFORE THE SURGERY. THATS THE KEY. YOU MESS UP, YOU GET SICK AND IT COMES BACK.
