"There's only TWO options in existence. You are either for Jesus, or you are for Satan. There is no third option."

This is copied from a question where the person that made this statement proclaims that everyone that doesn't agree is close-minded.

I don't think that billions of people serve Satan, and frankly I find it hateful to be told this.

Luke 9:50
And Jesus said unto him, Forbid [him] not: for he that is not against us is for us.

I only call it hate speech because Millions were killed for being called followers of Satan, many of which didn't know what a Satan was.

Yes, it is.

1. It "demonizes," rather literally, most of the humans on the planet.

2. It encourages hatred of other points of view.

3. I think we all know how justified xians like this one already feel in *whatever* discrimination, verbal abuse, invasionn of privacy, denial of legal status, or even violence they mete out to the rest of us. Fanning that fire is irresponsible, to say the least.

4. He's wrong. SO wrong that he approaches the same level of asstardery as Holocaust-deniers.

It is when they take it too far. I guess maybe I have heard it often enough where that does not affect me. I find it childish, like watching the playground bully try to get one up on the little kid... again. People like that tend to be very close-minded and it's just not worth arguing with them about it. I have found that people like that feed off of the attention it gets them (bad attention is better than no attention at all) and generally, if you ignore them, they lose steam.

I don't think anyone is serving a being called Satan. For the most part, mankind serves himself first... including their choices in religion. Seems to me that most of the mainstream thought is getting "saved"... which is self-serving in itself. And how one uses it will show their deeper intentions. I believe the person who said that though is very self-serving... I'm right and you're wrong is at the forefront, when it should be more about discussing Life and what we can do to help make it better. Not who we can knock down.

Have you not read ,
what NT says about this.
It says :" We are not against
ANY people,
rather we are against false
principles, beliefs, cults
and doctrines
which make people
go ashtray"
Therefore we need to see
what principles Jesus
wanted us to follow.
Simply saying : I love you Jesus
has no meaning unless
one is practicing
what he stood for.
He stood for :-
(1).Non-Violence & Love :
"Love one another; serve one another;
if anyone slaps you on one cheek,
show him another;
If anyone makes you to
carry his burden a mile,
carry it two miles" etc.
(2) Celibacy :
"If someone looks at a woman and
thinks of possessing her,
he has already committed adultery"
and adultary was punishable by death
at that time. Also "Unless you become
as innocent as children , you cannot enter
the kingdom of heaven"
Also "If anyone who has not committed adultery,
should throw the first stone at her.."

These are the main principles Jesus
asked people to follow , besides others.
Because he understood their importance
in the universal context.
Merely giving lip service to Jesus
is like groping in darkness.

With an open mind if you compare
Jesus was speaking exactly what Buddha
also did. These two main principles are
required for making spiritual progress
because , as buddha has told,
all violence and sex is work of devil.
All people who are still into these
can get influenced into the devils snare.
Thats why Jesus and Buddha have asked people
to forsake all pleasure of the world.
Both chose to live ascetic life, why, because
the more you enjoy the more you get deeper
into the trap of devil. Hence most of all
people are into its influence.

But that shouldnt make us wary. For the path
to follow is before us :
Live simple life of purity
in divine contemplation
and oppose the desires
which rise from within us.

Yes it is. I'm an agnostic pagan Witch. I'm a supporter of any good that exists in any faith, and the good that exists outside of faith. There are certainly more options than the "you are either for us or you are damned" notion.

But some of the more "hard line" Christians do believe just that. I am happy and heartened when I realize that those Christians do not represent all Christians.

Having said that, my guess is that the vast majority of Christians would believe that I am going to hell, based on any one of the three words I offered as a description of my spiritual path.

I am used to it, more or less, but yes, it is still hate speech. I wouldn't dream of saying such a thing to anyone who didn't follow my path. It wouldn't occur to me.

You've completely neglected the option that neither Jesus nor Satan is being served... There are other gods who are touted around the world and there is also the option that there are no gods at all.... It's the last of these possibilities that I am convinced is true.

I don't think that it's hateful to express one beliefs, though I am prone to think almost all beliefs are foolish. There is no metaphysical reality outside the mind of man and it's only foolish nonsense to believe otherwise.

I would take it as a from of hate speech, were it spoken to me as well, Gnostic. But take heart in the fact that such people are in the extreme minority of REAL Christians. He, on the other hand is a Biblean. He totally believes that HIS Bible is the unerring, revealed and inspired Word of God. He doesn't even KNOW the History of that very book that he claims as being in complete congruence with God and how folks are supposed to worship that being. The History ABOUT the Bible is almost totally complete and it reveals an awful LOT of gameplaying and outright censorship. Folks who believe the Bible is the ACTUAL word of God are so deluded that they're completely lost when it comes to the worship of their God. the Bible as it exists in today's World is a totally false document. Made false by the many inaccuracies of translation, editing, political censorship, deletions, and plain out and out lies in it. If one were to see the Bible, as it existed in 500 AD and compare it to the ones we have today, they would see very little that was similar in both. I believe that there ARE copies of those very early works in the archives of the Vatican and in the Acrhices of the Greek Orthodox church but I sincerely doubt that they would release copies of them as it would completely disrupt ALL of Christendom.

I fail to see you point and some of you may label myself as ignorant.
But one thing remains eternal and that is... in case of war either one is a friend or one is an enemy...you can not have the combination of these two. The third option, as some of those of you, who are the advocates of this philosophy, do not understand that this is the root cause of all the turmoil this time in the whole wide world. this third option as you have embarked upon, has resulted in creation of sects within sects, enemies and friends none can comprehend, ans societies totally immoral and other things one can not fathom. And it has engulfed all the religions, faiths and in. all the countries.
The result is... total chaos.
Go on with it and surely we will be the fore bearers of destruction of our race.

People need to learn how to preface their remarks with things like "according to my religion" or "I believe that".

Otherwise it is indeed pretty disrespectful to say things like that. Clearly there are many other options in existence. I'm not sure if it's hate speech but it is definitely intolerant and rude.

I don't know if it qualifies as hate speech. Stupid speech for sure. I don't think any one knowingly serves satan. They either don't believe in him or are on the other guys side.
